Awesome build! Did the track manager at PPIR take you in his old Datsun? That truck is pretty fuggin sweet. Hope to see your car around at an autoX or track day someday.

Re: prjct92eh2's 92 Civic CX Hatch Weekend Warrior Build
Finally did something new to the car! Something small, but at least it's getting some love finally.
At some point before i bought it, the car was repainted the stock milano red color on the outside. It's a shitty job, but at least it looks somehwat acceptable from 20 feet away. Well they painted everything but the roof and tail gate. Needless to say, the roof was noticeably faded. I had been debating getting it painted or getting it wrapped, either one in black. I finally bit the bullet and decided to buy some vinyl and wrap it myself. So I ordered a 5' X 6' piece of gloss black 3M vinyl and an applicator tool. here's the process (with crappy pictures).
First get a decently large flat head screwdriver and tape it up to prevent scratching
Remove the spoiler.
Then carefully get under the roof molding and pry up. I started at the front and worked back. There are 4 clips on each side.
I decided to paint the trim while it was off, but didn't take any pictures. Basically just hit it with a red scotch brite pad and then sprayed it with a couple coats of trim paint.
I wasn't too sure about removing the windshield trim, so i just got some masking tape under it, sticky side up, then folded back the part that hangs over the roof. this exposes about 1/8" of the roof panel.
I then layed the vinyl on top, taped it down with masking tape and cut the rough shape, leaving 2-3" overhang on each side.
Then i took the vinyl sheet off and cleaned the roof panel with Windex. There is probably better ways to clean it, but the idea is to remove any dirt and wax that are present. (forgot to take pictures past this point)
Once it was clean i gave the vinyl a wipe down to remove any dust, then layed it back on the roof (with the backing still on), and taped it down again.
I then folded back the first half of it, removed the backing and cut the backing away from the front half (you will need two people for this).
Then you lay the vinyl down as one large piece. The vinyl doesn't truly stick until it has been put on with pressure, so don't worry if there are bumps and bubbles at this point.
Then you use the hand applicator and starting from the middle work your way to the front corners. Be careful not to press in any creases. If you do, no big deal, peel it up and hit the vinyl with a heat gun. There are some good youtube videos that show how to do this.
Once you finish the front half, remove the masking tape and baking from the back half and repeat. It's really not too hard of a process.
Once the main surface is done, go back around and trim the excess so you are left with about 1/2" around the edges. You then apply these down into where the roof trim, spoiler and windshield trim go. You will want the heat gun to get the rear corners to conform.
Once it's pressed into the seams will, do a final trim to get rid of the excess. Be VERY careful around the windshield trim that you don't go too far through the vinyl and get your windshield trim at the same time. I did this in a couple places.
Put everything back on the car, and you're done.
Final (crappy) pictures. will get better ones next time i'm outside during the day,

Yes I have: Atlanta to Denver
Nothing new to report other than it passed emissions with flying colors again.
My 5 year old Azenis are finally almost worn out, so hopefully early next year ill be ordering new wheels and tires. Looking to go 15X8 this time. Either 949 Racing 6UL, Enkei PF01 or Gram Lights 57DR. Will also go with a 225/45 tire. Not sure which one yet, probably either NT01 or Ventus RS3 version 2.
Some more crappy pictures:
Harnesses are for sale
Washing the other week
Finally got a car cover to keep the dust and dirt off between drives

A little over 3 months old now. The first time your kid looks at you and smiles gets you right in the feels. Wouldn't give it up for a million ITR's, haha.

Time for some updates!
I got the Vision carbon fiber plug cover installed
Then a local group that promotes fuel choice did a free dyno session on a Wednesday night the other week. I had been wanting to know what the car made now that i'm at elevation, so I went. However, they had a load setting or something wrong with the dyno, so the car was revving way too fast and was showing 900+ hp Can't complain since it was free, but all I got was some cool vTeC yO! noises. Here is one pull.
If you look closely at the end of the video you can see the plug cover nuts vibrate loose haha. So i need to find some with a nylon insert or something so they don't vibrate off again.
Also got the new seat bracket installed (I REALLY need to vacuum)
I love the rails. They definitely sit lower and while i'm still not quite centered on the steering wheel, it's closer. After a quick drive I need to slide them back a bit and tilt the seat back some.
I also sold off the Status 4 point harnesses. I never intended to keep them too long since 4 points aren't good when it comes to submarining if something goes wrong. I took the money from selling those to purchase this:
Crow Enterprizes 5 point and sfi 16.1 certified. Haven't gotten it installed yet, but it should play well with the anti-submarine mounting holes built into the PCI seat base. I'll need to order one for the passenger side eventually.
And now for the big news: I won a Fantasy Football league, which means new wheels! I hope to order them in the next week or two, but I can't decide:
1) Enkei RPF1 15X8 +28 11.3 lbs
2) 949 Racing 6UL 15X8 +36 11.6 lbs
My basic requirements were 15X8, so I can run a 225/45 tire, and ~11 lbs. I've always had a soft spot for RPF1's, and when I found out they came out with a 15X8 size I was pumped! But the +28 offset scares me a little, especially with the bigger tire. Plenty of guys run the 949's with 225/45, so I know they are a quality wheel that works on my car. From what i've read, even the 949's with a 225 tire you have to do a little fender rolling. So i'm scared the extra 8 mm of offset is going to be a bit too much for fender rolling to solve.
So any thoughts on the two wheels?

Man thats a great little addition you got right there! Your correct nothing in the world can stack up to him .
I love the switch in harnesses, i am curious how your going to mount the 5th strap? The way its mounted in my new race car when i got it was on the floor which felt strong to me but majorly limits seating position. Loving that plug cover looks oem+.
As of thoses wheels i think youll be able to tuck the 949's barely but the pull is gonna be pretty intense, my 205's on my 16's where tough in the front tho its a at a +30 offset i think.
Ill have a set of 949 15x8's coming with a race car i bought and should be bringing it home in the next 2 months, if you wanna wait i could swing them up from the springs here and we could do a test fit, they are 215's i believe.
Ill have to pm you soon, it would be nice to escape the stance thugs haha

Look what showed up today!
But I'm going to return them...because they just released the black version!
Just my luck haha. I ordered on Sunday, they shipped Monday, then on Tuesday they emailed that the black version is now available. Damn you quick order processing. It will cost me $70 to ship back and another $180 for the black ones, but if I don't get them in black i'll regret it. Oh well!

I don't think I could bring myself to plastidip brand new wheels. plus then i wouldn't get the red Enkei stickers
I believe i just used the same high temp silver paint I used on the block and transmission
