I finally gave in and decided to give in and create a build thread for my 1994 CX Hatchback that i purchased bone stock from a farmer in Pennslyvania for $1500 with no body damage, no modifications, no rust and a clean carfax.

Here is what has been done so far... i took out the old and extremely slow d15b8 SOHC non VTEC. I have also started stripping the bay and fenders/ front bumper/ side skirts so i can prep the bay and get ready to swap in my b20vtec (b20b bored and block guarded block 9.0- 1 CR and my b16a2 head fully built)

Engine specs.

Block. b20b JDM block, ross racing 84.50mm 9.0- 1 compression, eagle H beam rods, Acl main + rod bearings, bored .20 over, GE block guard, ITR oil pump, GsR water pump, power coated silver (glass bead color) was gold when i bought the block.

Head. b16a2 head off of an EM1, 01 ITR cams. Full port and polish, supertech nitride coated valves flat face, blox dual valvesprings, Blox intake mani, 68mm TB, vitton valve seals, hondata intake gasket. and to top it all off a BALLIN valve cover painted by Swerve (hard to see but there is sparkle in there)

Rebuild of my y80 Hydro trans (LS transmission). decided to go this route because i am boosting and long gears = more time in "boost". I am keeping the open diff for now until i get used to the power and then i will purchase an LSD. i am replacing it with all new bearings and synchro's. Re- build kit cost was $275.. i know what a rip off

i will have more pics when its finished and i glass bead the case.

So it is getting painted one of these three colors

1) Milano Red
2) Championship White
3) Electron Blue

Since i can not post a poll place your vote by submitting a page message please! I am stuck between Milano Red and Champ white and cannot decide.

ya im leaning towards Champ White myself. its a sharp color and likeable. plus my friend has an EG Hatch also an his is going to be NSX formula red

So over this past week i got a lot done. i preped the bay with the help of Adam and Eric and taped off everything i did not want to get my rat rod matte black paint on. It was fairly inexpensive (under $100) and sprayed freakin awesome. im really happy will the look and will start assembling the lines/ body after it dries.


p.s.. my bed spread is way better than yours

tomorrow i am going to re connect the brake lines and reassemble the body (fenders, front bumper hood) so it is ready for the swap... pics coming soon!

where did you get a tranny rebuild kit that was only 275 bux??? when i built my tranny i paid that much for 1 syncro 1 gear and 1 syncro spring from gearspeed

sorry for not posting pics in a while but i have been really busy with work and classes since the end of the semester is coming. i have bought several parts since the last post... a virgin p28, special ordered head gasket from Cometic (84.5mm bore and .051 thick), traded my friend for some tein replica lowering springs, and had to buy a new cam cap because my dumb *** lost one so now my head is getting line bored. i will have pics of the head soon all complete and finished on the block. and for the trans rebuild question i have the hook ups lol. i am actually selling a whole bearing set for $100.

so i am priming the car this saturday and i have almost all the bodywork done... the body was incredibly straight and had very few flaws. thank you carfax!

should i gut it and carpet it to the fuel pump or run full interior? i plan on shaving rear seat bracket if i do gut it... the interior is getting painted the same color as the car which will be Milano Red or Champ white im having a really hard time deciding.

Pros: how can you not like a red?
goes good with black bay
ton of wheel combos
in my eyes a cool color
factory color on eg hatch

Cons: most expensive color to paint
common color on eg hatch
harder to paint then white
my friend said his is going to be nsx formula red

Pros: nice color
looks good with black thin side moldings and jdm fenders
cheap *** hell

i have saw some champ white cars come out like dog sh*t
just the fact of painting a car white may be pointless (so my friends say)
doesnt "stick out"


i made a poll and they were both tied with 33 votes each. i tried finding pics of different color combos on CW and MR but CW is not a very common color on an eg hatch. if you have pictures of yours please post them!!
