Default cleansi build thread Im back in another EM1

So fellow Honda enthusiasts after a few years of moving around being stationed here and there now in NewYork, selling my last civic si i have finally returned.... i left the honda crowd for a long time for a few reasons, one being the kids and drama I am 28 this month and just while i was test driving trying to get back into another civic within minutes i had some 17YO rev and burn out by me. and every car meet was like a reggaeton concert, at least this car will sit in the garage this time unless it sees the track so, I am not to worried. i respect all cars not just imports but i cant resist my love for honda. I daily drive an 2009 Ford Mustang GT 321hp ehhh its what ever...
This car will only see meets and track ( 1/4 ) i plan on going the same route as my last civic forced induction and OEM appearance. no crazy camber or tow hooks yuck (just not my taste)
i grew up driving an accord when alteza tail lights and fiberglass bumpers were "the ****".
grosss non the less i have alot a head of me and hope to take advice and comments take it easy on me lol...

This time i am all in. let this serve as ongoing log for this civic as of last time i did not have the opportunity to document my progress.

so i found this 99 civic si in pretty ok shape no rot witch is a big deal here but it certainly needs some work the power steering and a/c are gone witch is fine the sterring wheel is off witch i assume is becuase of a bad tie rod end (its lowered) the motor was stolen from the last owner and was replaced with a b18c1 witch is also fine but the harness looks a little off. theres more but ill cover it as i go along
ive been out of the game for a while so im sure theres new pumps or tuning companies out there now
plans are
500+ hp shooting for
9.5:1 or 10:1 comp not sure how high to push it
maybe sleeved?
pistons rods not sure what combo ?
s300 tuned by Xenocron of course chris did amazing job.. tuned my last civic si
ID 2k dual walbros? 10 AN feed oem supply for return. (e85)
valvetrain undecided? type r cams prob
oem headgasketarp head studs
Full-Race kit or JDL kit thinking presicion 6262 front mount? 4" dp dual waste gates

body
strip down and complete
respray not sure its in really nice shape gunna try buffing the car out first

well i have a lot of home work and cleaning to do here the pics of the car when it was still forsale... ill post more as i go.

so after a few days of contemplating and staring at the car afraid to pull the trigger i finaly gave in and starting pulling everything apart starting with taking pictures of everything and documenting where everthing is such as the little plastic clips and what holes i can shave and marking them with a sharpy ill be welding them shut

so ive been looking around for parts.
thus far ive bought a few items pics to come

OEM civic floor mats
Edelbrock victor x intake manifold
syncrotech master rebuild plus a new second gear (my tranny wont go into 2nd)

after a bit of fighting with other people on a Facebook page i managed to
get a precision 67mm turbo , top mount manifold not sure what brand, 4" downpipe, precision wastegate, tial bov. all for 1200 bucks!
what had happened was this kit came on a Facebook page that i like and it just so happen that the guy selling it was only a hour away. so while all these people started fighting over it i had been the first person to respond get the guys address and take off. heres a pic i posted on the forsale page meanwhile people where still fighting over the parts. needless to say they found out that i bought them and they were not really amused hahhahaha...

ill post more pics of the parts once i get the chance

got the OEM car mats in ill prob never take them out of the plastic..
i also started stripping the front end apart
the front fenders had about 5 pounds of dirt and decomposing leaves and branches at the bottom of them surprisingly no rust.

The plastic fender liners (surprisingly still there usually they are gone) cheap oem plastic clips just about decomposed when i tried to get them to pop out.

any ways the car had the JDM password dress up kit.. FYI they suck!
they are made of such cheap PIG steel that they just round off when i try to remove them needless to say i had to tap out like 6 of them in order to get them off. i fuc*ing hate all of JDM password crap I personally like oem and think its tacky cheap CHeap cheap!!!

pulled the wiring harness out of the firewall in preparation for pulling the motor out.
going to be purchasing a tucked harness from rywire or chasebays not sure yet.

also the a/c power steering and i think the cruse control was removed so i am trying to remember/find out what few random body harness clips go to i guess i could just look up a wiring diagram but if any off the back recognizes this that would be appreciated.

sorry for the crap pics i guess i could pull my camera out from here on out.

totally agree. funny you mention that it was the first thing i noticed fortunately i actually weld for a living in the Marines. The welds just look like **** where some one tried to repair the section but there is plenty of penetration so im just going to leave it be until i get a new manifold down the road thought about cutting it off and re-tigging

so im just about done shaving and cleaning up the bay here are some pics of the progress ive made.
its not perfect but its cleaner then before and now that i have the tucked harness it should clean up nicely.
I am not sure if i am going buy a tucked headlight harness now or just keep the old one.
the paint really did not come out to bad for shooting with a broken 900 debliss gun in a old dusty garage/shack. It was also my first time experimenting with painting below 70 degrees, i usually have a paint booth i can use on base where i paint aircraft and support equipment but i did not feel like going though the hassle of towing and having some guy that out ranks me popping in and ask me what i am doing on my off time lol.
I have already started wet sanding the paint with 1500 working my way up to 3000 grit then going to start polishing.

so I ended up getting a Rywire budget tuck harness, charge harness, and grounding kit a while back thought i post some pics.
I also picked up today Injector Dynamics 1k cc injectors and Hondata S300 Version 3 in a ecu from Xenocron here in NY.
the injectors they had in stock and gave to me. i thought the civic had a obd2 to 1 conversion and chipped obd1 ecu turns out its just a obd2a conv harness and ecu ohwell
so i bought one off of Xenocron and gunna pick it up soon. chris tuned my last EM1 and has gave me alot of advice im glad to do business there. he will also be tuning this car hopefully this summer.

so like I said prior i had already bought a Rywire harness but had them put OEM injector clips on the harness because i was not sure what sure what injectors i was deciding on.
so when I saw Xenocron was having the ID1k's plus s300 black friday deal i decided on these. needless to say right next store is RaceSpec and they put the clips on pretty cheap right there and then. The guys at RaceSpec are really cool and took the time to talk and give me some advice and were true enthusiast, not to mention they had a canadian ITR done up nice just sitiing in there garage. drueeeeellll i wanted to to take some pics but i did not want to be that annoying customer haha. idid mention i would work at either Xenocron or Racespec for free though true story....ehhhhhhhh..

if any one needs the OEM ones or a OBD2A GSR ecu let me know hahahha.

so this evening it was a little warm so I decided to finish up the shaved engine bay well at least the tucked harness and put the fuse box in the glove box.
sorry i did not take any pics of th headlight harness but i pretty much cleaned it up with thinner than reloomed and tucked under the radiator support looks better then i thought. well considering you cannot see it haha.

i also took the rest of the A/C out of the dash whille i had the chance and cleaned up the leaves and dirt in the heater fan it was a butt load lol you can see all the **** on the a/c cooler . this thing must of blew warm air

i also stripped the wiring harness off the motor and starting taking all the accessories to get the motor ready to be built.

are you planning to keep the air bag? if not mount the fuse box to be accessed through the airbag hole, and keep your glove box still useful.
