Default Build Thread - H22 into EF civic - Prelude dash Fitted

Righto - it's time for another build thread.
I've recently accuired an EF civic hatch that popped up for the "right price", and so I decided to start this.

The car came with - a half cage, not alot of interior (obviously), and no engine.
Since I picked it up i've stripped the dash out to remove the air-con, heater box, dash loom, bit's of carpet that were ripped and left hanging on stuff under there, basically - a good clean out. I've also removed almost everything from the engine bay, in preperation for the H22 swap.
I've decided to have the car road registered - but in race trim, ie nothing that gets pulled out will probably ever see it way back into the car.
I guess you'll just have to wait and see how this one turns out.
Here's the progress so far:

Found this big nasty hole up under the dash....

Here's all the crap that's no longer needed:

Also - it has had a crash at some stage and the previous owner never got it fixed so I gave it a quick going over with the block and panel beating hammer. It's no master piece - I may go over it again later on.

That's it so far. Started removing the sound deadning today - but no pics yet.

Thanks guys!
Done alittle work tonight on removing the sound deadning, and found an area of interest behind the drivers seat. Don't know what the person was thinking, but now I need to weld it back up again

Righto!!!!
How time flies when you forget your HT password and can't log in......

Anyhuew!! In quick summary to this point - I picked up a prelude and have pulled it to pieces to get all the stuff I need.
The civic's engine bay is now nearly finished. All I have to sort out is the rear mount. The engine has been in a few times to line up everything - and is sitting there at the moment , but will need to come out one more time.
I'm abit rushed for time at the moment - So I'll post up the pics of the process so far - THEN I'll try to keep this updated daily from then on.

Ahhh I've probably missed a few bits out -but you get the idea. I need to get this finished soon, so check back for regular updates over the next two weeks. The more astute of you will realise that that is the dash out of the prelude in there

Sorted out the rear engine mount tonight - using the prelude rear engine mount and the prelude front crossmember mount. Hoping to get the car sorted and out of the workshop by the weekend. Then I can do all the wiring at home.

Lovin the build and how custom you really are going with this, I can't wait to see it done. even have your own lift to work on............jealousy brewing .lol

I did not think a prelude dash would fit in a EF, I am really suprised, oh and 2 very big thumbs up on your fabrication skills good luck with the rest of the build

Last night I got rear engine mount fully welded in. Also hooked up the shifter cables. Gotta give the engine bay another paint today sometime...

Got the fuel lines sorted out (nearly) last night. Just gotta get a new fuel filter to see where it needs to be mounted etc.
Pulled the entire loom out of the prelude also - now comes the daunting task of putting it into the civic
More pics when something interesting happens........

Have the dash NEARLY finished. I've made all the mounting brkts - just have to make a shield to cover the gap between the back of the dash and the windscreen.
Hopefully get some pics up by the weekend
