SEE UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM DYNO SHEET!

Hey guys I’m a long time member (old timer) is been a while since I posted something worth reading looking at. I've been working on a project. I think is time for me to share. Feel free to post any questions you may have most of this stuff is not new to most of you, but for those wanting to know more just ask.

This is a different built from my previous stuff. Before I was focus on horse power and going fast in a straight line, but I got tired of all the work lol and honestly **** breaking all the time with my turbo etc. Now I'm going for a clean reliable fully functional I mean AC and all. A car I can drive to the track and put on the track vs towing to the track. I plan to drive this thing on the street and track and not have to worry about problems other than maintenance . So here it is! Let me know what you all think?

I’m also getting this thing B.A.R.D is been a journey. I’ll post from my experience about this and what you need to do.

The day we got her home!

Very nice man.. you replaced the first thing I replaced in my old Honda.. all of the bushings.. that's a great feeling & so many nice parts

Only thing i would have done different is not paint the middle of the grill on the front bumper

So far I'm happy with the suspension everything feels good. Replacing the bushings was a great idea with all the suspension work car corners really good. Can't wait for a track day.

Clean car man! I really like the 225 tire size. Are you gonna auto x this car? How much whp are you hoping for?

It must suck trying to stay legal in ca with all their crazy *** regulations :-/ I'm in Oregon and cars 20 years and older do not have to pass any type of inspection. Works out for my turbo 92 Eg hatch ;-)

Yeah my plan is for auto x, circuit road race go in circles as some say lol. That is why I really focused on suspension work. I forgot to list a few things but all the suspension has been upgraded sway bars etc anything related to suspension.

I'm hoping for 190-200 with the upgrades I'm doing and I will be happy with that. If the bug bites hard could turbo in the future or supercharge. For now I'm very solid on keeping the build as is. Emissions are a lot of work I'm currently working on it and should have my bar sticker very soon. I'll let you guys know how I was able to do this and maybe write a how to for this specific motor.

For those wondering that I won't pass with the head upgrades. You are right that's why I have not install them or dyno the car, trust me I know what's up. Once I'm ready for this I will post more about it and also the dyno sheet so that you guys can get an idea on the mild built and what these upgrades pulled on the dyno so stay tuned...

Nice. How much power did it make? I love my LS turbo, definitely my favoret turbo setup out of the 3 turbo Honda setups I've had.

Don't really remember, used to have an s2k and all I can tell you is in 2nd gear I would leave it behind I had my cousin drive the s2k while I drove the eg. Is been a good 10 years since the blue eg. I think over 300whp would be my guess...

Icon6 Re: been a long time but here it is my new built!

teaser

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjOU...ature=youtu.be

So turns out JDM Type R or b series motors only have 4 digits for the engine code for example jdm b18c vs usdm b18c1 gsr/b18c5 type r. Type R's came to the USA in 97 which were OBD2A we didn't have a Type R before that. With this said we had an obd1 94 GSR ad up correct me if I'm wrong.

Therefore I was able to get my JDM B18c (ITR MOTOR) BARD all obd1 as a 95GSR here is where it gets interesting!
You will need to duplicate a USDM OBD1 GSR out of your JDM Type R motor

So this is an OBD1 set up and how to.

You will need evap purge solenoid all vacum lines have to be properly hooked up, knock sensor make sure you have all of the stuff that made the OBD1 gsr work in the US (look up 95 GSR vac lines diagram on google) all the way to the gas tank.
The ref will check to make sure the evap purge solenoid valve works and all vac lines and sensors are up to part. Your gas cap must also pass they will pressurize your gas tank as well and test the vac pressure etc. Tip you can go to any smog station and ask them to do a pre run and not put the car on the state system. Let them know you are trying to legalize your motor and that is why you would like to know if something is wrong before going to the actual ref. This will help you figure out items you may need. You want to let them know because as soon as you pop your hood they will be hesitant to do anything due to that they don't know you, and you could be an investigator trying to catch them doing something wrong...

Next

The 96 - 97 Spec R headers are not the same as the obd1 95 GSR but is very similar. If you have the new 4 to 1 headers from the 98 and up ITR it looks like an aftermarket header and for the purpose of this write up we are trying to look like a 95 GSR so the 98 and up ITR header won't work. However the 96-97 Type R headers looks similar to the GSR with the cast iron look and the header heat shield cover. So as soon as the ref sees the cast iron you are good on this. So you can use the 96-97 type r headers that look like my photo and you are good to go or get the GSR one.

Your car has to look stock and whatever is not stock needs to be carb legal and you must have the stickers for it. So I have the comptech ice box which is carb legal with the type r intake arm which looks stock as hell. Moving on to the intake Manifold make sure is carb legal and make sure you have the corect GSR sticker for it that's all I will say about this. The stock GSR manifold will not fit.

We all know the ITR motor will run on the OBD1 GSR ECU like s*** but it will run and if you didn't know now you do. You will need this ECU in order to make this work. In my case they did check the numbers on the ecu to make sure it was usdm and 100% legit. No jumper harness allowed but any wiring that you do just make sure it looks legit like it came from factory. Make sure you got no check engine lights.

You must have the obd1 cat converter they do check the numbers on the cat. So make sure you ask or get a 94 GSR cat converter or pre 95 cat converter obd1 this is a big deal so you must get this right. ( I will post the right part number tomorrow I have to go look at it)

Go do a smog pre test make sure you are good to go and if you are not. Fix whatever you need to fix so that the car runs good and emissions clean. If you pass your pre test at the 15mph and 25mph pre test you should be good on the ref. I will post more photos

But this is pretty much all you need look at my sticker B18C HELL YEAH!

If anyone reading this has done it and a different way feel free to add and correct what you think will work better but this is how I made it work for me.

It was actually lower before but due to the clearance on headers I had to go up a lil. It looked a lil better before but I like the idea of saving the headers.

So Here it is boys

From 155 stock to 186 with the few parts I added. This was on a dyno jet. I was hoping for 190 but I'll take 186 I' happy with it for now.

So far seems like a reliable build untill I decide to add more stuff for more Hp. But for now this will do.

I like to hear comments from all of you and if someone has made better numbers with the same set up. What do you guys think of this numbers?
