Default 95 prelude vtec shave/tuck/paint build

As some may know. There will be a barrage of updates coming very very soon. Instead of sifting through all these pages. Like the facebook page. It will be much easier to keep up with the progress!!!

www.facebook.com/4u3prelude

Also shout out to silkyjohnson#1hater at Wireworx harnesses for sponsoring the build!!!

UPDATED FIRST POST WITH LINKS TO PAGES

So just recentley I bought a 1993 honda prelude VTEC with 205k miles quarter panel rust, and cooling problems. But you cant beat $525 bucks for it!

The plans right now are to fix the cooling problems, the rust, paint, and we are looking at buying a new H22A from hmotorsonline.com. We also plan on cleaning up the engine bay in between the motor swap. We have a welder and thought we would put it to use. Also, other plans consist of suspension work. We will be somewhat slow and low. 8)

pics...

Previous owner. :/

Mouse traps for the little mice problem i use to have

BOUGHT NEW SHELL FROM CAMPBELL
PAGE 12 New Shell

Teaser pic. The car will not have the Work carving starks. I just couldnt come up with the extra cash to buy those.

-Leather interior
-JDM black housings
-Seibon (OEM style) CF hood
-95 VTEC submodel so it has EL gauges
-No exhaust
-Zac and his brother removed the old suspension and replaced it with OEM struts and Eibach springs
-OEM blades
-Some kinda camber kit installed on front and the rear is waiting to be installed (Zac enlighten me what kinda kit it is?)
-NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO RUUUUSSSTTT!!!
-Glass sunroof conversion

Two very happy cars to be out of the elements...

Your welcome for the good pic too.

I also did some work... Haha washed it dried it, waited for salt to appear, washed it again and kept doing this till no salt showed...

I also removed the rear quarter weather stripping.... There is a little bubbling going on, on the driver side quarter, about the size of 1/2 a penny... No biggie tho.

Motor is out plus the tranny is off and the clutch and flywheel are off. We are going to wash the tranny and paint it.....

NEW VOLK WHEELS VOLK/RAY GR-A EVO IV

My wireworx harness is back! (check out my sig!!)

Hey guys I just got my harness that I have been waiting a few months for! Im really excited with how it turned out... IDK what the **** is up with my camera, but on auto mode it cant take close pics, and on manual they look liek ****.... so here you go.

TRULY a custom harness!

Wrapped in awesome material!

CAR PAINTED
PAGE 21 CAR IN PAINT

Well I couldnt wait till friday i had to update now... But it seems there was a weird malfuction with my camera so i cant unvail the color??? hmm...

Anyways I showed up real early to the body shop this morning so i could do some work on some semis, day starts bad when you fall 10 feet off a semi onto your hip and elbow... Im a baby so the rest of the guys heard about it the whole day...

The Body Tech who was working with me goes by the name of Sonny. He is a fantastic person and basically did tons of work for next to nothing... Also the other body tech craig helped out alot!! BTW sonny is the one who helped do my engine bay

Anyways he and I spent countless hours on this car the past few weeks... Mostly him doing the very difficult stuff, and me sanding and wetsanding. He is very skilled at what he does, he has painted numerous custom choppers for employees at the shop.

Most of his time was spent working on the doors of the prelude, which have seen better days... To the non body man naked eye they looked ok, to us they looked like ****. He ended up glazing them, sanding, priming, glazing again, priming again and sanding again, even tho we were out of time. He cared for this like it was his own car...

I Cannot thank the guys out enough at Carstar Of Wilmington (Ohio) the semi truck side. They are great people and very smart. Onto pics.

This is one of the custom choppers he did... This thing is truly amazing.

I masked all the windows and doors, sonny masked the engine bay and what not... The hard part.

I decided to tape Vtec on the back... And the gentleman with the green chopper decided to add his own wording... Funny group... Considering my boss questioned me and i didnt know what he was talking about. lol

Sonny doing work

Hmm camera weirdness

Thats it for now...

As always thanks for reading!

Ok guys I have been thinking about this for awhile. i asked alot of people including Zac. And I decided to release a color picture of the car. I hope you enjoy color as much as I do.

Ok people requested daylight pics, and YOU GOT IT!!!

I am beyond happy!

I think it is a very very classy color...

Finally done with the valve cover. I think it turned out amazing!

Thanks. I feel pretty lucky to have this and be 16, and working on it with my dad. Should be great fun! And it was beat. haha Also there were mice in the car. :/

But in attempt at finding his little nest, we just started taking **** off. And we need to fix the AC controls because something was wrong with the cable, or we were missing a piece. So it started as just finding the mice. And turned into alot more. And the refurbishing starts here.

Just the trunk all cleaned up. It was gross. Wires galore from the person who made it all janky.

I think that use to be the OEM sub's place. IDK

ALOT of wires we ripped out

All the stuff all organized, and everything labeled. Organized=The way I like it!
There was much more added as well.

Thats the last of em.

Good luck, i gots a black prelude vtec, with a little tlc that will be kicking. It's nice to see one of these in the appearance build thread's, im tired of seeing eg's and ek's being built. Do it right! take your time piecing everything together, and it will treat you good.

Guy from my dads work forgot the equipment to do the compression test. But we were able to do a leak down test. And everything seemed good. And we didnt find anything wrong with the head. But ne ways, just have 2 photos for now. The seats were out and everythign was cleaned spotless! Makes me love the car again even with the rust! And no mice!

We turned back the years on this car! ****ty ENV 1 pics dont do the interior justice. Speaking of turning back years, this car was made on the same exact day I was born. Same day, month and year. I thought that was cool. And the time that it actually was off the assembley line was dated aswell. So Im actually about 8 hours older. hahaha!

Not stains on the seats, just the way the grain is setting.

BTW for now Im not building it. Just returning it kind of to OEM, but will do suspension work, and looking at getting some sprinthart cpr's. And some engine stuff. But its all about making it run good, and make it look good. Then after that. Who knows.

But fortunately for me my dad does bussiness with a guy that does about $900k worth of body work on his trucks. And he said he would hook us up with paint. So +1 for that. And he also said he could get us deals on body panels. And we will just weld those in. But stay tuned. -.-

Just thought I would upload some pics of the first thing that was on my list! A blasting cabinet. I managed to come up with 250 bucks to buy it. Cheers!

Haha "I" didnt kill him, but I left him at my park after I couldnt get him off the sticky tape. I bought the cabinet new. And the motor we are going to just try and get it kind of running good. But we will see how much money we have to put into it just to get it running ok. But I think we are going to just buy a new long block from hmotorsonline. Cheers!

ya Im weighing my options with this motor. I will rebuild or buy a new one. I just dont know yet.

But soon I hope we will tear out AC and Cruise control. And once we bend the core support back and replace all of the cooling stuff, im gonna get all the bolts, brackets, and other misc parts and blast them and paint the.... All in an attempt to make the engine look good.

Well I just ordered my new radiator, and ordered misc. bolts, brackets, and hoses. I also need to buy my VC gaskets, and a thermostat. Then after all that Im going to be buying my rotors and pads, and hopefully not my calipers.

Got my upper radiator hose, water inlet hose, and im waiting on my lower radiator hose. Backorder i guess??

Also just bought my hood prop thingys that go on both ends. That makes life so much easier.

And I should have my radiator tomorrow. But Ill be gone for memorial day weekend. So Ill probably get started monday night, taking stuff apart, blasting it, and primering it, and keep going through the week. Its tough, I have to spend 10 hours at school because Im doing community service, and that really does ruin my day. Hahaha. Gives me little time to work.

Also I need suggestings, im trying to clean up the bay, and my ac is not really working, well its not coming out of the vents. Should I just remove AC to clean that ish up? This is a community build. hahaha

Probably just needs recharged, but itd be a good idea to pull it out to clean it up too just to make sure everything is hooked up/plugged in for working condition. Specially if the car is going to be pulled apart n e way. my .02 good luck!

This is the liquid that dripped out of the motor hose inlets. Its suppose to be green, but instead is a uncirculated rusty brownish color. hahaha

Those are holes in the old radiator. I decided i would play hookie from school today and pull it, its much more fun than school! haha

New one.
