Re: 1998 Prelude Supercharged H23 Vtec
As for suspension I only have a camber kit and my teins but I am hoping to get traction bar not sure what else I could get to help? Any ideas for upgrades on suspension wise?
Here are some pics of my suspension
Originally I had stock struts with lowering springs. Front lowering springs were Neuspeed and the rears didn't have any markings.
Here are some comparison shots
Rears
Fronts
Here is the weight of the new struts 12.8lbs . Couldn't find the pic of the older set but they weighted 15 to 16lbs. So there was a little improvement.
Story of these little guys found them on craigslist for $250. Sounds like it was a deal to me and drove 4 hours round trip. Worth it I think.
Another pic shows I had punch out the extra bolts for them to fit the prelude
Model numbers were dkh58- 115310 BB6 -f-98f
This is how low it was before the Teins.
Front wheel height before.
Front wheel height after.
Its a small difference but I no long have to drive sideways over speed bumps.
Also forgot I changed my rims 1 day before I dropped it off at the tuner. Found some pictures on my phone. Let me know how you guys like them? They are a different taste but I like them. Plus way easier to clean!
I have tons more pictures just let me know if its to much? I don't post often so kinda new to this. I am usually a lurker and dreamer on the forums but ever since my brain surgery I said screw it lets do it all. Jump first and ask later or I will never start my dreams.
Here are some more pictures of the wheels
Before
After
And a fun fact my mail lady said she "bumped" my mail box but looks like she ran it over.... it was in a wooden barrel lol
Weight of new wheels 21.2 lbs
Weight of old rims 19.8 lbs

Re: 1998 Prelude Supercharged H23 Vtec
Here is the H23 engine and it sat in my spare room for almost a year sadly. I think I could hear cry once in awhile or maybe it was just me knowing that my lude could be a little faster one day. Which is finally coming around corner.
Not sure if you guys can see but in one of the cylinder there was an issue of an outline of the piston on the cylinder wall. Well that was the first step on the start of the entire build.
Took the engine and all the misc parts down to my tuner and they honed out the walls and balanced the lower end. I also had to get the block resurfaced due to who ever had this H23 last had a belt sander to level the deck, so that wasn't very smooth or a even flat surface. I also had a custom headgasket made to help make up the difference.
Here is the supercharger that a friend and I drove for 14 hours round trip to Idaho. Picked up this little guy for $1700. Came with a few extras AEM pulleys, some injectors, a head which I sold. It was only missing the alternator bracket, easy fix.
More to come if you guys want to see more?

Here are some of the before and after shots of my carbon fiber hood. The carbon fiber hood was switched from my other prelude, but as seen it used to be very dull. Prepped it and my buddy clear coated it.

Thank you I have been taking pictures for years just encase I ever got around to posting this online. I always surfed around these forums being inspired and dreaming. I just hope to inspire other people just how I was inspired and dreamed
I thought this was a cool mod, here are the before and after sun visors. Haven't seen anyone do this yet and thought I would show it off. The yellow warning labeled visors are from my 1998 prelude and the gray cleaner look visors are from the my 1997 prelude.

Re: 1998 Prelude Supercharged H23 Vtec
Little update on whats going on...
I guess I was missing the tensioner bolt and bracket for the supercharger belt... but the tuner said he would modify it to work. I also was missing the IACV mounting plate but found a aftermarket one and ordered it from rosko racing. Also decided to not use my AEM intake which from I saw online its 2" and 3/4 and went with my Injen intake which was 3" in diameter. Not a crazy difference but I already got the bigger throttle body and port matched it to the S tube on the supercharger so though might as well. Sad note that it cost me $45 to ship it
I seriously can't wait to drive my car again. Before I drove it down to get built I found a taco bell receipt in my seat... it was a year ago that I last drove it to get a snack from taco bell. I am going crazy
Here are some pictures of the engine work done by the shop. You can see in the last picture of much the pistons stick out. Reason for the thicker head gasket.

So here is the link to the dyno of the prelude before the h23 swap. It dynoed at 175whp. You can see the crazy amount of smoke that its creating. Reason what started my journey to do this upgrade and swap. Hopefully I get to see how it compares too after the swap soon.

Re: 1998 Prelude Supercharged H23 Vtec
Small update ordered a OEM accord f23 pulley since the other one I gave to the tuner was a cheap ebay one. The tuner said he had issues with them and advised to get an OEM pulley.
Also had the shop order a larger jackshaft pulley to increase the boost 3-4 psi more from Jim.
Also had the cat removed and replaced with a test pipe since my cat was almost clogged due to it smoking so much. Hoping it wont make to much more noise. I might later ad a high flow cat.
Here are some pictures of the parts that I have accumulated over time that I found on Craigslist for good deals.
Thermal intake manifold gasket
Not sure if you can see but made by Zerg industries. Came with a trade.
AEM power steering and alternator pulley
AEM fuel regulator
AEM fuel rail.
RC injectors 650cc
Walbro fuel pump
MSD blaster coil

Re: 1998 Prelude Supercharged H23 Vtec
Small update:
Had three gauges, two AEM gauges and one new in box Auto meter gauge. Both AEM gauges didn't have any of the wiring or sensors. Turns out that crap is expensive.... $200+ to get those working.
So decided to go with the Auto meter boost gauge which had all of the wiring and sensor. Only thing is need another gauge for my duel pod. It was going to be a wide band but I am not going to be doing my own tuning anytime soon so I thought maybe intake air temp guage, since I am pushing 12-13 psi give or take.
Just thought I was ask you guys what other gauge would you guys run on this type of set up? Also to note I will get more gauges when I push this engine more but not enough money at the moment. No job kinda does that to you.
Also was going to have the valve cover painted with my favorite color but getting close to my limit for money on this build at the moment. It was ether have it painted or have it the valve cover taped for a catch can. So chose to go with function for now and come back to the cosmetic stuff later.
Here is the gauge pod from ebay not thing special
Small defect on the side, but it was like $10 so can't complain. I will upgrade later and sell this on craigslist for more
Here is that ECU that I just sold. Wanted to use it but already had a chipped ECU and thought the money from this would help finish the build
Here is the Injen intake that I sent down to the shop. Injen is 3" inches in diameter compared to the AEM 2.75" inches in diameter.
Dirty but gets the job done for now.

Re: 1998 Prelude Supercharged H23 Vtec
Hey everyone back from my wife's and I first anniversary! I thought my car would be done by now but the shop had some issues with my distributor. I am hoping for tomorrow that it will be done.
Here are some pictures of the engine. This was before they had AEM pulleys and larger crank pulley. Also before they modified the valve cover.
You can see the adjustable came gears
Closer shot of the supercharger and Skunk2 throttle body.

Re: 1998 Prelude Supercharged H23 Vtec
At the moment I am using the header that came with the car. I am not sure what brand it is some aftermarket header.
Thank you As for the wheels I am hoping to save up money for some 8" wide wheels later on. I just wanted a unique look for now.
So for the first dyno pull the supercharger was pushing 15psi not sure why... Any ideas? 6psi stock I think the accord adds another 3psi and the jackshaft 3-4psi. Correct me if I am wrong.
Decide to back down the psi for now. Going back to the original crank pulley.
Also found out that the one of the bearings needed to be replaced so after all of that the car just needs to be dynode and tuned. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong.
On a better note more pictures!
Front end was in an accident from the last owner. Had some issues with the new radiator due to the front being bent a little.

Here are more pictures!!!
Here are the CNC pulleys to replace the plastic ones, and the extra pulley up top to help the belt slippage.
You can see all the plastic pulleys replaced with the aluminium pulleys.

In reply to the coilovers, ive heard f&f2s are awesome along with BCRs. Never had either but if you do a quick google search many swear by them

Re: 1998 Prelude Supercharged H23 Vtec
Well sadly I don't have much for an update. Last I talked to the tuner they finally got the belt to stop slipping. Also not much work was done due to the holidays. So they were aiming for around the first of the year in January to have it finished.
Just to keep this active I added the dyno graph of the what my original H22 dynode at.
Stats of H22 at the time just incase anyone was wondering.
H22 engine
Aem intake
Skunk intake manifold
Skunk cams
After market header with 2.5" OBX cat back system. which was really loud inside and out...
Chipped ecu
Light weight fly wheel
