I have seen a few dynos on them compared to a victor x and a pro series but they were on turbo cars, does anyone know of anyone who has done comparison testing on an all motor car with either the race or street Ultra manifolds. 4Piston is cnc porting the ultras now so there must be people using them, but can't seem to find any write ups or comparisons, except from Skunk2. Like maybe a comparision between the skunk2 pro vs an ultra street and a victor x vs an Ultra race on a bigger displacement engine.

There's a few, Darius @ Driven has done a few, and Jason Lumpkin currently runs one over a BMC race manifold.

We've all came to the conclusion that the 3.5L liter is very optimal for NA veh's, the additional spacer of 1LT and 2LT kill the powerbands for NA cars. This has been proven on both K series and B series. The Ultra Race manifold is a Serious manifold, it's stepped up the game for the manifold world.

I'm using the 5.5l ultra with the 90mm tb on my 86x95 bseries I even thought about adding the 1liter spacer to make it 6.5l but still on the fence about that. Some of the bigger bseries cars showed improvement by going the the bigger volume spacers. Tbmotorworx, alr are some of the examples.

So a bit more than 2x the actual engine displacement whereas the "avearage" formula is more from 1.25x to 1.5x that people usually use and recommend. I understand that every setup is different, just trying to gain some feedback on whether it's worth the investment to play with on a 2 liter. Without the spacers the volume is 3.5l, anyone know what the victor x is?

correct me if Im wrong, but the ultra race spacers are incompatible with the ultra street?

I have heard that the ultra street is fairly tight in an ef/da bay due to the firewall, some insight on this would be appreciated.

The spacers are not interchangeable with the street manifold, already made that call. With the velocity stacks the runners are actually longer than the Victor X ones with a bigger and adjustable plenum on the race version, plus 4Piston has a CNC program for the runners so I think once the car is tuned I'll have to pull the trigger on an ultra and see what we can make out of it.


I know there are a lot of K series guys with them, but no one is posting results....wink, wink.

I'm hoping for better midrange results on my EM1. Going from an ITR Manifold and Throttle body to the Ultra street and Alpha 70mm. I went to my machine shop next to Kinsler and they'll be porting the runners instead of 4piston. I like to use my local resources whenever I can.

Curious to see the difference, even on the street manifold over the ITR. Was the ITR stock or ported?

And DDTECH, I know you were referring to the Race one, that's the one I'm pondering on now. I have a ported ITR now, want to see the results on that then switch up to an Ultra, the cost is really what kept me away in the first place. I should have ordered it in the beginning but the $1000 price tag with the throttle body is a mouthful.

It was a slightly ported ITR manifold, but not the full length of the runners. The ITR throttle body is stock. If I can get better upper end from the 5000-8000rpm range, that's good enough for me. Those that know me know I'm not worried about dyno numbers all that much, so it may be awhile before I go back to compare the two. I might have already changed injectors and such by the time I get around to dynoing again, so it may not be a good back-to-back comparison.

I'm in a HUGE intake manifold dilemma LOL. I was dead set on running and AEBS on my GSR head. Then started looking into the ultra street and alpha 70mm setup. Now I went to my machine shop and he's got a 70mm TB port-matched S2 pro intake manifold with portmatched runners sitting there he's trying to unload for next to nothing. A guy dropped it off then never came back to get it or paid for anything. Decisions decisions. I just try to remind myself this is a budget DD commuter build for now... but I like power too much.

every setup is different. on my particular setup, the Ultra street didnt improve over a stock Type-R by much. same 72mm TB and Intake was used.

Thanks for posting, but I would consider that a loss. The gains don't justify the loss out of VTEC. I guess it all depends and what you are going for though.

Hell, I'd just GRAB that, and work with it, even if it means splitting in half, cleaning up the runners and plenum and welding back together.

The runners were cleans up as far as they could get w/o cutting it open. Probably just grab that and give it a shot.

Ultra Street has been tested locally with success seeing gains around 7whp over a Pro Series on builds around the 200whp mark. It does well for what it is, but I'm still on my high horse thinking my Performer X will slaughter it after my port work. I've ran into a lot of other projects so we likely won't see the results until this fall, sorry.

Ill be waiting for them, debating on dropping the cash for the ultra street, but could grab a used PX for alot cheaper.

That is sg. we should test.
I dont think that would be the case. I have seen real 2l race cars with lot bigger plenum than Ultra race 5.5l

What counts the most is runner lenght and runner enrtry size.
