supertech valvesprings SPR-H1002D or SPR-H100DR
First of all, i would like to thank ***** @ supertech for his speedy replies on email. I've emailed ***** @ supertech about the supertech valvesprings for b-series motors and he has given me a really good insight on the right valvesprings for the right applications. I am very impressed with the effort he puts in to reply my technical questions. My post is to find out what most people are running in their setups.
Now, there are 2 different types of valvesprings from supertech.
SPR-H1002D 70 lbs seat pressure/ Rate: 254 lbs/in / Max Net lift: 13.5mm (0.531”)
SPR-H100DR: 85 lbs seat pressure / Rate: 317 lbs/in / Max Net lift: 14mm ( 0.570”
Anyone using the H100DR? I think the H1002D is more than sufficient for most of the camshafts in the market, but some may choose the harder spring rates of the H100DR, tell us your experience and why you've chosen it.
Thanks

And I'm actually interested in input on this thread, can't wait to hear what people have to say that have opted for the stiffer spring.

I talked to supertech about this too. I ended up going with the SPR-H1002D even after they recommended I use the DRs for my pro 2s. Initially the guy recommended the non-vtec springs but I think he didn't read my email clearly and apologized when I clarified. I still wasn't convinced that the DRs were needed.

Skunk2 Pro2 B series cams.
I choose the H1002D springs because the published specs are damn near identical to the published specs for Skunk2's Pro series springs.

I use the dr's with type r cams, but its on a boosted motor. I picked the stiffer rate to help negate the boost pressure on the intake valves.
I think the 1002d would be more than adequate for an n/a engine
