stock block b16a2, suggested cams?
which cam upgrade would be best for a stock block b16a2 w/ comptech ice box, aebs im, jdm 4-1, 2.5" exhaust. i think that the following cams would do well with the 10.2:1 cr but which one you guys think would be better for daily driven power.
USDM Integra Type-R
Blox Type A
Buddy Club Spec 3+
Skunk2 Stage 1
Rocket Motorsports M21
the cams will also be used in conjunction with rocket motorsports gen1 valve springs/retainers and tuned by hondata

I kinda' like my Skunk2 Stage 1's.
Although to see some real good gains with these cams, you need a method of raising the rev limiter.
The Skunk2 Stage 1's are pretty much a CTR cam with a good bit more top end.

CTR cams, cam gears, AFPR, FP gauge and VAFC. That will atleast make you tunable and for cheap, I think its always best to start there.

With the stock compression, CTR's should do the trick nicely. Consider bumping up the compression via a thin headgasket and/or high compression valves before seriously considering any of the other listed options.

The Rm M21's are a turbo cam, so I wouldn't do those. The nice thing about the ctr is for 1, you have the reliability...they are going to idle and act as if the motor is stock and will give you good gas mileage. For 2, they won't wear out. You can buy a set of used type r cams and have the confidence that they aren't flat or have wear. 3, you can always re-sell them for what you paid for them. Since they are a OEM camshaft, people know that they are still "good" and that they aren't abused or whatever. 4, you don't need to change your factory valvetrain. Assuming you keep your stock rev-limiter, you can run these cams right now...plug and play! Both of my roomates have installed type r cams in there stock B16's and it HONESTLY made a huge difference. People assume that they are weak because they are o.e., but Honda knows what they are doing..........they get down!
