Exhaust for 2000 Si Comptech v. RS-R Exmag *POLL*
Trying to decide which to go with. I like the Exmag and the Comptech exhaust and just wanted to get peoples opinion on which to get since the Comptech is about $75 more I wanted to toss around the idea of which one to get.

If you're considering the Comptech, you better grab it while you still can.

Apparently they have decided not to close after all...

i ve owned both the comptech and the exmag .. obviously , if you re looking for performance , then there are far better options out there . but the comptech sounds really nice , a very deep and different tone to it but i couldn't stand the way it looked lol .. rsr is nice with the flat black and polished tip and is VERY quiet .. i would pick the exmag

I like the opinions they have helped me decide better between the two. I like Comptech for their quality but I don't want to be pulled over any more and plus I'm sure the Exmag is good performance wise.

I have the RS-R ExMag on my SI and absolutely love it compared to the Tanabe SRM I had before due to it being quiet. My Girl however has the Comptech Sport on her GSR. Both are nice, but since the Comptech is a straight-through system compared to the ExMag's chambered system you will get more power with the Comptech.

actually , only the older model of the exmag are chambered . The newer models are looped inside .

What's the difference between the old one and the new one. I liked the flat black of the old one but isn't the new one made with all stainless steel or are both the same except one was black now the new one isn't.

I don't have any experience with either but I certainly did hear about the RS-R being a quieter exhaust than most, if you aren't looking all out performance gains either will be alright but if noise level is a factor go for the RS-R. A lot of people I know are trying to keep their cars looking clean and running quietly.

RS*R hands down. Quieter, more refined tone. Better looking tip. If you have any gripes about the all 304 stainless look, grab a can of Krylon high-heat flat black paint and 5 minutes later - you have the look of the original black Exmag, with the durability of the 304 stainless.
