Default ls/vtec build for my crx

to start with my crx...
-b18b1 block
-stock ls crank and rods
-new oem p30 pistons because the machine shop broke the pr3 pistons i had pressing them off the rods
-gsr head stock (wanna get a nice set of cams i will see how much $ i have when it comes time to put the head on)
-b16 oil pump
-gsr water pump
-arp rod bolts
-new oem rod bearings
-skunk 2 intake manifold
-aem cam gears
-bright yellow valve cover
-already have a chipped ecu with a datalink port so im gona have it tunned by John Vega at phearable.net

and my motor

chipped ecu with the data link port... its a p05 converted to vtec and has p08 maps in it for my d15b vtec i have right now

fresh paint

these are the pistons that broke in half when they were being pressed

p72 head

skunk 2 i/m and aem cam gears

you can obviously tell by looking the head has extremely low mileage and wear on it

Nice. I too am in the process of a p30'd ls/vtec build. Looks like it'll be a fun car.

Looks good so far :-)

I would recommend against 3 bolt aem camgears

Yeap. Go with skunk2 gears. They're 6-bolt.

i have a similar build of my own, i'm running a set of Blox A cams (slightly more agressive than R cams). They make awesome power for entry level lsv build-ups with 11.5-12.2cr.

good luck and have fun, awesome daily driver

Looks pretty good. Be sure to use a ITR water pump, ITR timing belt, ITR oil pump and get yourself a set of ARP rod bolts. The stock LS rod bolts aren't strong enough to put together a reliable LSV motor. Consider the ARP rod bolts to be cheap motor insurance.

i know alot of people are gonna disagree with me but my cams of choice for your set up i'd say go wth ctr cams. my old set up was very simaliar to yours. mild port gsr head, blox im,type r valve train, ctr cams,ls block,us itr pistons, stock ls rods & crank, arp rod bolts,b16 tranny (non lsd) stock fw & pp with only a act street disc running high 12s all day on 22x13 slicks in a fully interior eg. also the car was only tuned with a apex vafc & a chip p28 ecu. made 191 whp and 139 of tq

i was gona buy a bisimoto header a friend of mine had but he didint think i wanted it so he sold it on me

i guess ill just go with a 4-2-1 header becuse a 4-1 wont clear the stock xmember on a ef.... if i get an eg by the time i put it in like i want to do than ill run a 4-1

i just got the head back from the machine shop to make sure it wasitn warped or anything and the valves were sealing and everything was good
