itb itbs injector location.
when using itbs i notice everyone uses the injector location on the lets say cbr 600 location, why not use your existing injectors and rail and plug the ones on the cbr itbs up and use it that way. i plan on getting some cbr 600 itbs then cutting stock manifold weld some runners make it nice then attach the itbs to the runners at this point i figure it would be easier to use the stock or i have rc injectors instead of the cbr placement because i have a nice fuel rail and fpr. and maybe use the cbr placement for direct port nitrous later on. please let me know what injectors they use and why. just curious. thanks

If you use the stock cbr injector location it atomizes the fuel better than using the stock honda location. It was tested allong time ago in a magazine and they can up with a pretty significate gain using the cbr injector location overtop the stock honda location.

Re: (machine4321)
for the ITB's put the injector when they go on the stock honda manifold dont put them on the ITB's the it might be too way from the valves and you going to lose lots of power and time put then where they would stock

i ran the them both ways a found my car ran better with the cbr 954 location intead of the ls manifold location ,
from what i understand , the further back from the ports the injectors are , the
better the fuel atomization .... and more consistant the a/f mixture is ....
when i ran them closer to the head i also found that i was fouling plugs at 25% throttle and only reaching propper stoich level @ higher rpm's , once they were moved back fuel delivery through the rpm's range was more consistant , and fuel cons. was less or comperable to the standard manifold/intake setup i had prev.!!!!!

Re: itb itbs injector location. (lsed-eg)
will the honda injectors fit in the cbr fuel rail. does this mean i cant use my after market fuel rail?? what about aftermarket fpr that is mounted on the fuel rail. will it mount on the cbr fuel rail. how do u adjust fuel pressure if using the cbr injector location. Or are all the parts interchangeable. please fill me in guys. thanks.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Where is the best place for the injectors?
For performance at low RPM, economy and low emissions the injector needs to be close to the valve and firing at the back of the valve head. This is the favoured position for production vehicles.
For higher RPM (very approximately 8,000+) the injector needs to be near the intake end of the induction tract to give adequate mixing time and opportunity. The higher the RPM, the further upstream the injector needs to be. As a result, use of speeds above approximately 11,000 RPM may give best results with the injector mounted outside the inlet tract altogether (see our remote injector mounting). It is common to fit both lower and upper injectors in such a system to cover starting and low RPM as well as high speeds.
Where one injector is to be used per cylinder the best compromise position is immediately downstream of the butterfly. This gains maximum advantage from local turbulence and gives results surprisingly close to the optimum at both ends of the rev-range. This is the recommended position for most applications </TD></TR></TABLE>

For setups going on mostly stock motors, the difference is minimal. As lsed-eg said, it's more consistant when further away, it's also easier to tune when further away. In a fully built motor, this can mean gobs of horsepower all the way through the midrange, but it will make much less of a difference on a mostly stock motor. I dyno'd the differences using an early GSXR 1000 setup on a stock GSR motor a long time ago and only made 2 hp with the GSXR location as compared to the Honda location. I haven't had the opportunity to really experiment with injector locations on the recent setups I've done, or with any of my setups on fully built motors. But do to the more direct airflow path of my later setups, I'm sure the gains would be much more significant. Now that I think about it, I probably could have pulled a lot more out of the last setup I did had I used the Suzuki injector location.
Here's the thread on my most recent setup:
