how will a port & polish affect gas mileage
I have an h22.....rebuilt 3k miles ago.....new rings, rob bearings..etc........also had the head ported as well as the intake manifold........when I got the car back and since then gas mileage has gone down about 3-4 mpg.......I have changed the o2 sensor, fuel filter, air cleaner.......the plugs and wires look fine......not sure what else it could be.......I can feel the car hesitating slightly until 4k rpm's and then it runs smoothly.........any suggestions?
and its not throwing any codes

damn, you're worried about 3~4 mpgs??? I get about 200 miles on a full tank...comes out to roughly 17mpg. I wouldn't worry.

definately OT, but if you had the cash... you could have a smog legal, 8 second street car courtesy of Lingenefelter's great engineering. They have turbo kits that are smog legal, that propelled a z06 to an 8.91 1/4 mile. that's sick

NEVER build a motor so suit smog needs or gas mileage... its just plain stupid.

also,if its a really good port job, then it should help gas milage a little, unless they hack away at the head and really grind the **** out of it,it should'nt really make a difference.
