Default H22: Mahle Rings on OEM Pistons?

Seeing how Mahle gold series pistons and rings work with our FRM liners and the Mahle rings are much cheaper than the OEM honda rings, does anyone kno if its possible to use their rings on a factory piston? I'm doing a Type-S Piston rebuild.

Issues that come to mind are ring thickness for example.

Input please.

Thanks

Mario

Not sure....but have you looked into hastings? GREAT rings. And the fact that they're not expensive is just a plus.

After years of using Hastings I now have started to use Mahle rings for my OEM style builds and they are cheaper in Australia than Hastings.

Hastings rings work great for Iron sleeves. AFAIK you must use FRM compatible rings.

Uncle Dave, are you talking about B series builds or H22 FRM builds.

I have done 1 FRM H22 build using the Mahle rings 12 or more months ago car is running fine, the local supplier said to me they where for the FRM engine.Hastings are still a great ring set and either one will serve you well.

In a similar vein, but the opposite way round. I have brand new OEM H22 rings, and Mahle pistons lol. Can I use them that way round?!
