eagle rods confused on torque specs
Sup, I just purchase a set of eagle rods but I am confused as to what to torque them to.
The instruction they supply lists alot of different size bolts, but I narrow them to two. So I decide to measure them.
Now when they state "bolt head" do they mean the side where you put a socket or the threaded side? Also the bolts tapers in at the center. Is this where I measure the bolt size or at the threaded side?
This is what I found by measuring. You can fit a 7/16 socket on my understanding of what head of a bolt is. The body of the bolt where it tapers in is 5/16 and a the threaded part is 3/8.
They list they following
Bolt..........................................bolt head.....................torque
5/16 arp2000..............................3/8...........................28 ft. lbs.
3/8 arp2000..............................7/16.........................43 ft. lbs
thanks

Re: eagle rods confused on torque specs (foumer)
if a 7/16 socket or wrench fits in the head on the bolt it's a 3/8 bolt and if a 3/8 wrench or socket fits on the head of the bolt it's the 5/16 bolt. you should have the 3/8 bolt because i think all the newer eagle rods have the 3/8 bolts because of eagle having problems with the 5/16 bolts breaking.
