Re: DD/Drag B20V build
I'd like to get mine down to 2200 w/ driver as well. I'm running zero weight reduction at the moment. Full interior, all supports and a 50lb catback system. If I get my company truck for work soon I'll be putting it on a diet. Might even consider a tune on better fuel and adjusting cam timing to dial it in "track power" 13.4 for a car that makes 220whp on a stingy dyno is not up to par. Seat time and more tuning will get me where I want to be....I hope.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
it was likely heat related id say. i wonder what your iat's were in the staging lanes. i wouldnt be surprised if it was heatsoaked and the ecu started adding fuel from the corrections. while your left coast has heat and drought it was barely 70 degrees and rainy here in ny yesterday. this **** needs to even out too many extremes. take the car out at night when its cooler and see if the afr changes. also try it with the slicks to see if they are able to load the motor more than the dyno changing the tune for whatever reason.
try bringing the slicks down to around 8-9 psi then doing a burnout probably 2nd gear. what trans do you have in there and what rpm did you cross the traps at? overall glad you got out to the track, im sure it felt good to be smashing the gas when the light turned green!

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
Great looking graph hoss. No midrange dip!
Thanks man. The cams were paired pretty good w/ my setup. My buddy was like thats a K series powerband lol. I wanna hop back on the dyno and actually take time to play w/ the gears some to see if I can carry the power out further and get a little more peak for the track. Hopefully I'll get better ETs in the coming weeks. There alot left on the table.
Nice et's too

I had the slicks at 8psi and I raised the pressure to see if I could get some spin out of the hole and didn't. I forgot to look at my RPM at the line, but I'm pretty sure its right around 7300. I'm running a JDM R tranny.
I wish I was better w/ the tuning side of things so i could try things out at the track.

Here is the video to match the slip I posted. Slicks @ 12psi, 2nd gear burnout, launch @ 7300.
If you listen to the video close you can hear it pull 1st and 2nd pretty clean, third bogs some and 4th just sounds powerless.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
It seems like the longer the gear the worse the AFR gets. I'm not sure why, but it a trend I've started to notice as of late. Not sure what would cause that to happen since it was tuned in 4th on the dyno. Off the dyno the car ripped through all the gears clean w/ no bogging feel. I put exhaust on it and thats when the issues started. I thought running it open would clear it up but it didnt. I looked at the AFR in 3rd and it was a steady 11.3-11.5 and when I hit 4th it was 10.5-10.8. 1st and 2nd are low 12's Only thing I can think of is fuel pressure isn't consistent causing fuel flow to change but very unlikely.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
For reference this is my run:
DC2 @ approx 1900lbs
Stock B18C
22"
'96 Type R box
Exedy Twin + Insane Shafts @ 9000rpm launch lol - just playing around beating on everything
It took a few passes for me to work my way through the 13.0-13.5 barrier, I think I leaned the motor out enough to gain a few mph but I feel the biggest gain was seat time, nailing all the gears.
You'll get there eventually!

Your car has a weight advantage- I hope to be able to do that same to mine soon.
I think 22" slicks may help a considerable amount, at least for the time being. I'll keep the 23's for future use if I need them. There is no reason I shouldn't be able to trap at least 105 w/ the power my car made...that's if the power is there and working correctly.
Thanks for the share. I'm motivated to make the changes and hit the track again as soon as it cools down some.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
Yea the light weight helps a lot on the stock motor, my season starts in about 4 months and I'm going 24.5" and 3 stages of nitrous.
My point was not to get so disappointed with how the car is performing after one meet, you can see from my 1st meet in that excel file that I was all over the place haha
Little did I know that I would eventually achieve my goal on 12 seconds!
It's all about seat time

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
Thanks for the words. I know it has 12's in it without question. I just need to drive it more and keep working at it.
I get a quarterly bonus from work this month so I might spend it on a set of 22" slicks and tuning. Eventually I'd like to get a set of skinnies for the back. Not sure how effective they are on a build like mine though.

You gonna be testing the car at the track any time soon? I'll be at Pacific this Friday. Supposed to be much better weather for racing. Should get to see some fast times

They have TNT this friday? Maybe I'll head out if the weather looks better. My tune is still shaky though. Need someone good w/ neptune to take a look at it for me.

Don't know anyone personally that's good with neptune. If the forecast holds look forward to seein ya up there. Always more fun when there is more than 1 honda.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
I'll see if my buddy can make it. He knows enough to help you out with the tuning and what to adjust where you need it. And I can see if there's any pointers I can give you from what's been working for me this year.
my best pass is a 12.99 @ 103 the week before Forum Fest. Made 207/138 when it was tuned back in '12.
Can honestly say seat time has been the biggest help.

Solid time man. I hope to be knocking on that door very soon. I thought maybe I met you at forum fest...I was talking to a guy in the staging lanes in a teal hatch. He was boosted and running 11's though.

Re: DD/Drag B20V build
You got the power for it. And same size slicks as me. Should be achievable with good weather and some adjustments man. Look forward to seeing it
