D16 cam choices... please help me decide!!!!!!!!
OK first of all i need a cam for a D16 and am looking at two choices right now. Crower stage 1, or Skunk2 stage 1. I will be running stock valvetrain and limiter at 7200-7500.
This car is my wife's car and am not looking for a stage 2 cams or any other serious all-motor parts as this is not a serious car and all built with cheap, free, and used parts. so please dont reccomend it.
The engine is a D16Z6, has a 5 angle valve job, CP 10.5-1 (.020 overbore) pistons, eagle rods, Y8 IM, 60MM throttle body, ebay 4-1 header, ebay exhaust.
From what I know generally crower cams have more overlap than the skunk2s. Usually from my experience overlap has more of an effect of changing the peak HP/TQ RPM points. So in theory the Skunk2 cam HP should peak at less RPM than the Crower correct?? not to mention the crower may have a bit less midrange cuz of the overlap... correct? reason I am asking is I am trying to keep the peak HP at 7100 or less and trying to keep good midrange since its a dail driver.
also which cam would be the best drop in cam with no cam timing since i am running stock cam gear.
The other factor is price since I wont spring for valvetrain.... The crower is about 100 dollars cheaper so I am leaning towards this cam. thoughts??? advice??

Re: D16 cam choices... please help me decide!!!!!!!! (SMSP)
well web cams look good in all but from what i c the regrinds are about the same price as the crower. Not a huge fan of regrinds.... but saying that if it is a better drop in cam and will make more power than a crower then its definately worth a shot to look at. Thanks for the reply and any more info would be great!! thanks.
