crank position sensor keeps going bad?

Default crank position sensor keeps going bad?

Hey guys so this is the second distributor that i have had the crank position sensor go bad on what could cause this in my motor? I believe its a bad product but i cant prove it i dont feel that a cps is going keep going bad in my motor.

Is your motor OBD1 or OBD2? If its OBD2, I think the crank position sensor is near the crank sprocket.

if the motor is obd2 the crank sensor is located behind the crank pulley.
obd1 you dont need this sensor.
Inside the distributor you have the cam sensor

there is only one ckp(code4)...in the dizzy. The other one near the crank is a ckf...crank fluctuation sensor.

Neal i dont live in tampa anymore

The motor is obd1 and it through this code only once the other day for the first time since the new dissy this car is not a daily driver now its pretty much a maybe once a week drove car. But everytime it throws this code it goes into limp mode which is very annoying. Neal do you think it maybe wiring? You remember my white hatch that had that torn up wires under the dash. maybe you have a dash harness laying around for a eg

check the blu/green& blu/yel wires at B15 and B16(B is middle plug...these wires are on the end) at the ecu....also same color wires at the dizzy plug. hope this helps some
