B18b1 block P8R head compression specification.
Hey HT,
Just picked up an integra with a b18b1/P8R engine and did a compression test and I am getting 150 psi on all 4 cylinders. I know for the B18b 135psi is the low point of the spec and most heathly b18b's run about 200psi. Would the P8R head lower the spec to 150psi ? Has anyone that has a P8R head on a b18b block done a compression test? If so what was your reading to compare against mine. Thanks .

I have the same set up and started searching for answers. I guess so because i read 150 across all 4 also. My motor runs like a champ

I don't believe stock (block) compression B18B's will crack 200 psi of cranking pressure for the compression test as the static compression itself is failry low. On the positive side though, the consistent numbers across all cylinders are a good sign. Compression numbers are hard to compare as different testers will read slightly different. My suggestion would be that unless you feel that it is significantly down on power whether thats obvious with driveability or dyno graph data to back it up, you are most likely fine.

Well no dyno time yet but i plan on boosting so i just hope that the motor is healthy enough with the 150 psi on all cylinders. Like i said it pulls nice and feels healthy between oil changes oil looks good. My plugs look like they burn cold so im gona replace them again because i was running too small injectors by mistake.
