Default B18A2 NA Vtec Engine ROD Question ?

Heya fellas,

For B18A2 with Wiseco 11.5cr pistons(84mm + Darton Sleeves), should i use oem rods or Manley turbo rods ? I already have the both set of rods...

What would be the advantages and disadvantages to use Manley rods for this NA setup ?

If your sleeved and running that CR, I would use the turbo rods.. Only for the reason that if you decide to slap on a turbo later down the road, you wont have to crack it open.

Should make some nice power with sleeves and a snail!

I was exactly thinking that BUT will there be any consequences for using Manley rods instead of OEM ones in a 11.5cr NA engine ?

you should be worried more about the rod bolts than what they weigh. aftermarket rods will be stronger and have stronger rod bolts allowing you to spin the engine higher. there is a point where a rod can be too light.
