Default b16b head vs. b18c5 head all motor

I am going to be starting on building an all motor set up for my civic. It is going to be a b20/vtec set up. I am trying to decide which head I should go with. I want to do either a b16b or b18c5 head. I can get the b16b head cheaper, so I was wondering if someone could give me some pros and cons between the two heads. Thanks in advance for the help.

to be honest with you, its all the same **** if your gonna run type-r cams.

i would personally buy the cheapest b16 head you can find and spend the money on big cams. youll really wake the motor up then. just a suggestion.

b16a-b18c5 all the same stuffwhen it comes down to it. i remeber reading that the c5 head and the b16a head are made from the same cast the only diff is that the clean up the c5 head a little bit and put the c5 cams and springs. if iam wrong some one let me know

I think the B16B head from the CTR, and the B18C5 head are the same, or very very similar. Keep in mind, the B16B is basically a de-stroked B18C5.

b16b head=b18c5 head
so theres no pros and cons between them same head b16a heads with the same mild port&polish from factory on both b,and c. but b16a heads go for 400 and you can port and polish it for another 500-1000 depending how agressive you want it, cause the factory type R p&P is so mild

type-r heads are better.. had a friend who swapped his gsr stage 1 skunk2's with a type-r head w/ the skunks.. he dropped his revlimit from 8200 to 7000 with the itr just to be safe with no tuning and it dropped it from 13.2 to 12.8... guess the mild port and better springs/retainers is woth something right?

b16 or jdm b18 or usdm itr is the same head!!! why u think you can use itr manifold on it?!! This is a stock heads is good for low compression especially if your going to use turbo on it!!! Unless you build it as a all motor or turbo head...

b18c1 head have a small dome and it's good for all motor you got 1.0 plus compression already!!! But you have to lift it though!!!

i would go with the b16b head - especially if you get it cheaper. also depending on wut year the itr head is, you will get nicer intake cams from the ctr. plus w/ the type r's u get the nicer valve train. correct me if im mistaken
