Default another boring b16 stroker question what would be the best stroke 84.5mm,87mm or 89mm?

Yes i know there are a lotīs of topics on this subject by i need an advice from people who have stroked and used this diferent types os stroker kits. I need this info in order to figure out what brand and wich stroker kit to buy.

my setup so far

b16a2 first gen

68mm tb skunk2
skunk2 pro intake manifold
fidanza flywheel
2inch exhaust pipe
(skunk 2 stage 2 tuner series camshafts in the near future)
(skunk 2 springs, crower retainers, skunk cam gears)

now my problem is choosing the right stroker kit.
i know crower has the 84.5mm stroker kit
golden eagle i am not sure what they have
toda has the 87mm stroker kit
(this question is about durability of the motor and power worthwise sacrificing rpms for torque) meaning if it is more reliable using a 84.5mm stroke tahn a 87mm in terms of power etc....

so far i have not decided if i am going to go with darton mid sleeves and 84mm pistons yet( i am a bit scared about the shop messing up my block or over heating)

and if some some honda-tech sponsor who has good deals on stroker kits could contact me it would be really apreciated

Just build your own with a gsr crank (87.2) and custom rods/pistons. Thats all the toda one is. You can use an ls crank (89mm) and rods with custom pistons from arias. As far as durability goes the higher the stroke the less longevity I would assume but I'm not 100% on that, its just a guess.

Side loads on the short deck have always concerned me. I would personally go with the shorter stroke.

i heard that golden eagle has that gsr combo pistons+rods+bearings and cranks but i couldnīt find a good honda-tech sponsor that sells it. I was told that they are the cheapest stroker kit in the market

how long do you have your build and do you have any numbers dyno graphs??? as off now ia m looking at a 84.5mm stroked or maximum 87.2mm stroked donīt want to go higher than that. Wanted tolast at least some 60k miles....i am just not sure yet about the sleeves.

If you are going to stroke your motor you might as well buy a taller block (B18A/B, B18C).

faster piston speed= fatter power curve

that is why we run short rod motors. go with 89mm stroke, B16 length rods and custom pistons which have the wristpin raised half the difference between the LS and B16 strokes.

If i could get a b18 block i sure would have bought one already.. all i found was a b20 and the price was 4 thousand dolars. I bit too expensive that is why i decided to sroke it since it would leave me cash left to buy some strong cams, retainers and springs.

well i read some articles stating that a stroke of 89mm would not be a good ideia since it is a short block and would weaken the sleeves. Not sure if that makes any sense but it is what i have seen in some articles.

Just find a B18C block and sleeve it to a 2.0 with the LS crank. I believe the oil squirters will interfere with the crank.. something about knife edging the crank to remove some material in order to clear the oil squirters.

Stroking a B16 block would be just down right idiotic. The R/S ratio would be killer. I'd give it 2 months of life.

Then again.. who am I?

i had my b16 for about 3 months running good 206 on a dynojet and then i ran it low on oil and spun a bearing

Golden Eagle doesnt sell stroker kits.... Eagle does.. different company...

If you are going to drop all that money on a stroker kit for a B16 to make it the same as an LS? i'd just go with an LS block with a 95mm stroker.. blocks are cheap and easy to find. and Eagle does make a kit for the LS block with a 95mm stroker crank, rods, and pistons.. or just save your money and go with a B20 block.. same LS stroke with 84mm bore. get some RS or Sparks pistons and you will be making some great power. cheaper than that stroker kit for a b16... and it will make a lot more power.

For small bore (81mm) do 84.5mm stroke. For bigger bore (84mm+) you can do larger stroke because you can move the pin up more safely.

CP Pistons can do nice custom pistons for this kind of thing. FTMW.
