Default 83mm pistons on a B18

Will it be safe just to overbore my ITR block to accept arias 83mm pistons? My tuner says he can order arias pistons and just oversize my bore. I thought that you could not reach that displacement without re-sleeving. Is he correct or did I just miss something?

I hear that there have been occurences wherein sleeves crack. Will it be just as reliable as a 85mm re-sleeved block? I'm just aiming for around 1900 in displacement and a re-sleeving with darton sleeves to arrive at 2ltr will cost a lot of cash. If its going to be risky then I might just stick to my 1800.

82mm is the max bore on stock sleeves. for 83mm you would have to get a $1000 sleeve job done.

I went thru the toda website and their kit was 82mm. I guess you're right. I'll have to clear up the sizes with my tuner. Thanks.
