Problem With Keyless Entry and Driver Door
Hey guys. I have a 2004 Acura TSX, and my Keyless Entry recently started acting really weird. My girlfriend drives the car more than I do (it's actually hers), and she was complaining a few weeks ago about the keyless entry not working.
I went out and took a look at it and found that the remote will not unlock the doors until AFTER the driver door had been unlocked with the key. After the driver door was unlocked, the remote would work perfectly fine.
I went to lock the car, and found the same problem. The other doors would lock, but the alarm would not honk and the driver door would not lock unless I either locked it with the key or pushed down on the lock tab (pressing the power lock button would not lock the driver door either, probably lock-out prevention). After you locked the driver door manually, the other doors would lock and the alarm would sound.
At first, I started thinking it was a bad battery. However, it still pops the trunk, and will still roll the windows down AFTER the driver door has been unlocked (alarm disabled). Went ahead and bought a new 2025 battery just incase, changed it out, and no difference.
I had a problem similar to this in my Jeep about a year ago, and it turned out to be the door chime module, which was tied into the door lock feature and kept you from locking ANY doors with the power lock feature (including remote). However, the door chime, ignition-key chime, and headlight chime all work, displaying different tones for each occurrence.
One of my friend's dad is a GM at a Honda dealership in Dallas, and he couldn't even figure out the problem. Any ideas? It's annoying to have to use the key all the time...

same prob on my tsx now. its the lock actuator if your car is still under warranty bring it to a acura dealer to get fixed. tgis is a known problem so they will replace it with no prblems
