Default RLX Hybrid SH-AWD

Bellanova White/Seacoast.

I hope I don't regret owning a white car. I tried to get people to trade it for a silver car, but no dice. Evidently the dealers won't trade the SH-AWD RLX the way they'll trade other cars.

Anyway...I did it.

The Honda Access/Modulo parts look like they should work. 0_0

Hmmm....

The wood trimmed steering wheel is tempting, but I am not sure what to do with the switch on the left for the heat that we don't have in the USA.

And those little spoiler add ons are tempting, until you realize that to get them over here in the right color is probably $700.00

Beautiful choice of interior. I loooove seacoast.

That steering wheel looks naked to me, though. lol

In Canada, there is a heated steering wheel button.

We don't get that in the USA, although it is mentioned in the manual.

I am looking at the wood accent steering wheel rim that's sold as a Honda Access (Modulo) option in Japan. So far they haven't shipped any out, but we'll see how much they cost and whether it's a good idea.

:-)

Maybe the little Access (Modulo) front lip add-on pieces, though.

Holy ****...Yeah I just did a currency conversion on that lol...216,000 Japanese Yen (from Mugen website) is $1830 USD. Plus shipping and duties would be about $2200-$2500, I bet.

I do like the Mugen rear spoiler though.

It's already on the site at King Motorsports.

Here is a picture of the Honda Access (Modulo) add on to the front bumper.

I'm much more likely to go this way. :-)

^^ Yeah that does look good.

Weird....I just looked at some internal Acura accessories lists for the regular RLX and SH-AWD RLX, expecting to see an OEM lip package. All they offer (in Canada at least) is the rear deck lid spoiler.

The ILX and TLX both have a complete Aero kit (or a "Launch Kit" which is the Aero kit that also comes with 19" wheels). I'm surprised they don't offer it for the RLX. I guess it's due to market demographics.

I love the illuminated door sills...you should install those

Do American Acura dealers explain how to put the vehicle into "car wash mode"? It's important to know for any Acura that comes with the electronic shift assembly, such as the RLX SH-AWD or any TLX with the V6 engine.

This car is still around and doing well.

There were a number of TSB, excessive, in fact. However, the technology is solid and will be used in more cars in the future. There is already an MDX Sport Hybrid in the market and generally available.

After settling in, the 0-60 times are around 4.8s. If you're trying to duplicate that, you have to be in Sport Mode, and you will have to select first gear manually. I don't know why they do that...but it's not supposed to be a drag car.

Compared to more modern vehicles, the thing that'll irritate you is the whole infotainment system. It doesn't have enough processing power or memory, so it's laggy. It's no longer "glitchy," however, after the updates.

Krell Audio...still nothing like it in the Honda/Acura lines of vehicles.

I'll probably end up holding onto this car a little longer than I usually hold onto cars.

I cannot lease, because I drive too much. And I usually end up getting a new car sooner than most people would because I rack up the miles. This one, though...still solid and interesting, and I don't see anything new in the market that is clearly superior.

Yet.

If you're thinking about buying one of these, you should be prepared that it is tuned to handle aggressively even though it arrives with all season tyres.

As long as you are smooth and do not over react to anything, the car will allow you to oversteer with great effect, with slip angles at all four corners.

This is fascinating in such a big car.

But if you panic.... If you lift off the throttle or make a sudden steering wheel move, the car's handling safety systems will take over, and you'll end up heading in a straight line instead of pointing the nose inside the corner.

This can be dangerous, so practice with the car before you try anything acrobatic.

Again, I have no idea why they've tuned the car like this unless they designed deliberately for retired track drivers. :-)

The USDM cars have that now, but I don't remember what year it started. Probably 2016 model year.
