MY 2005 ACURA RL SRS Light ON, 81-64 and 85-64 , HELP HELP HELP!!!
Recently got into a accident from passenger side. Only driver airbag deployed and driver seatbelt lock. (no passenger)
Just got the car repaired and change seatbelt and driver airbag. Bought it to a repair shop and he scan that " The SRS unit must be replaced after any airbags and/or tensioners have deployed.
Then i change a NEW OEM SRS UNIT, the SRS light still on.
Bought it to the repair shop again, He reset the SRS and it disappear. I was so happy but when i turn off the car and go pay them and start the car again, THE SRS CAME BACK!!!!
and they scan it again and got 3 codes but all
81-64 ECU Serial ID Code Inconsistent Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Unit
81-64 ECU Serial ID Code Inconsistent Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Unit
81-64 ECU Serial ID Code Inconsistent Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Unit
They told me to change the OPDS SENSOR?
In the RL MENU, Message, i have 2 codes
85-64 which means "ECU Serial ID Code Inconsistent OPDS Unit"
81-64 which means "ECU Serial ID Code Inconsistent Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Unit"
After reading alot of honda/acura forum i think i need my passenger seat to be recalibrate.
So i bought it to HONDA DEALER. I told them "i need to install/calibrate/initialize my passenger seat/OPDS sensor to my module."
Service man keep saying "ok you mean reset" I was like ok whatever, which i thought he understand me.
They took the car and say your car cant be reset because you have a error code
81-64 "ECU Serial ID Code Inconsistent Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Unit"
and told me to CHANGE the OPDS Sensor.
Now i change it!!! ITS STILL ON!!! SAME CODE!!!
Anybody gotten this problem??? or any suggestion???
Dealer seem to NOT KNOW ANYTHING about "install/calibrate/initialize passenger seat/opds sensor"
Is there any TERM i need to use for them to understand me?

You were suppose to change the sws unit not opds unit. The part number is 81169-SJA-A01. Once you replace the unit, have the dealer calibrate the passenger seat then your srs light should be off. I did this with my RL.

when your honda is in an accident
And you have any supplemental restraint system (SRS)
Issues (air bags, seat belt, buckle and srs module) most of the
Time the osws will have to be calibrate.... It that's not mean
You need to replace it.. I do work on Hondas and I see this
Alot.... Especially in civics.. Sounds to me like the dealer is lost
I will ask around with local shops that have a good scanner
Or the Honda scanner.. At the end once you replace the new one
You will have to calibrate it too..
