Default Acura CL type S or BMW 330ci or Infiniti G35 coupe

Ok so I'm looking to purchase a used car. I can't decide between the BMW 330ci, Acura CL Type S, or the Infiniti G35 coupe (all manual transmissions). I want the 330ci the most, but its also the most expensive. I also know that the 330 has the best handling of the bunch. Let me know what you guys think of each car, their advantages and disadvantages.

Of the 3, I'd say the G35 for better styling & performance or the CL if you want a little more room. As for the BMW, you'll pay out the nose for any repairs/parts in the future (with the Infinity not too far behind). As for reliability any of them would be pretty good, but I'd have to place the CL on top of that list. You may also have trouble finding a decently priced used G35 since they are still so new.

In the end, the CL would probably be the best because of availability along with its great interior, good performance, decent styling, and lower repair/parts costs.

330ci all the way. The G35 is pretty close to the BMW, but for style and performance the 330ci is the better choice. hey its a bimmer.

dont go with the CL. bad trannies all around.

You wont regret going with the 330ci or the G35 coupe, both awesome cars. but i still favour the 330ci more.

I'd say go with the g35, I love how that car looks. The 330ci doesn't look to shabby either.
It's all really what you personaly want.

get the G35. I am very unimpressed with BMW's 3 series lately (besides the M) Quality wise, as well as reliability, the infiniti would win. bmw is getting cheap for their lower priced models, trying to keep prices down, now that there are cheap alternative to cars that compete with the 3 series

Ive driven all 3 of them...(also drove the 350Z just for comparisons sake)...for the price, performance and reliability involved, my toss up would be between the G35 and Type-S...the 330Ci is a gorgeous car, especially with the many MANY "M" products you can simply slap on...and it is quite the performer, but its a bimmer, and my brother is a service manager at a local brokerage dealer (where i got my CL Type-S) and he gets them all the time...service costs on a 330Ci without warranty are absolutely rediculous...and service WITH warranty is time consuming, especially if you would be stuck with a rental car of much less quality than your own car...its a great car, i have a neighbor with a 330Ci with a very nice set of BBS wheels and a few Dinan goodies...but for the price, i just wouldnt want to face some of the things my bro has told me about.

G35 is a great car, VERY comfortable, but in that too...i find that the CL Type-S interior is more comfortable...both offer GREAT (like the 2 best in the world great) navigation systems...and both are good performers...the G35 just slightly outing the Type-S from my driving experience...

So then it comes down to price, when i was in the market, i chose the CL because it was quite cheaper, and i was getting the top of the line trim where as with the G35 for the same monthly payments and higher cost, i would have been getting a lower line...(if you go G35, get the 350Z track package with the Brembos, most come with them but some dont, keep your eye on them, youll deffinately want those)...

I guess it just boils down to what your willing to pay for the performance...my choice sat with the Acura because im quite brand loyal, and the price is what sold me in the end.

all right, heres the deal, or at least my 2 cents... ur best bet is going to be the 330, and for a number of reasons. i own 4 BMWs and can personally vouch for the quality, performance an reliabilty consistently shown my them. the main reason is the performance, itll kick the **** out of a CL, and beat the G35 on a track anyday. second is luxury, the CL and G r both nice cars, but the 330 is leather interior, harmon kardon sound, electric everything. if u have the money its well worth it, your gettin the best of both worlds, luxury, and performance. as far as parts and repairs r concerned, BMW has an incredible warrantee program, almost everything is covered, and with a little bit of shopping, even what isnt can be found for no more that infiniti parts. so yeah...

330

Ur talking about the new G35? Well to be honest G35 no contest-

Here are some stats-- The BMW 330 Ci 2004 stock 225 HP Inline 6 3.0 DOHC estimated 37000$ US

Used Acura CL Type S: 3.2 Litre VTEC 225HP V-6 Engine, looking at under 30 000$US

Infiniti G35 (coupe of course): 3.6 Litre V-6 Engine, 280 Hp with 270 Torque, 6-speed manual $ 47,000 US

honestly depends on your Price range. G35 is completly superior in look, style and performance. BMW is 37000 with 225 HP- G35 47 000 with 280hp MONEY my friends money...lol

where did u get these numbers?

First, CL-S is 260hp 3.2l

Second, where did u get $47,000 for a g35 from? sticker price is low to mid 30's. my friend just got full loaded g35 coupe for just under 40.

and pricewise, depends on whether you're talkin about used 330 and used g35

you can't compare brand spankin new cars with a used CL-S u can get for 20 grand.

I suggest the Infiniti G35 coupe or the CL-S

IF you get the CL makes sure its a 2003 manual cause all models from 2001-2003 have issues with the automatic trust me I KNOW! Mines transmission is a piece of **** same w/ all the TL's also even the 2004 model TL's have tranny issues and the recalls are not working...

Go for the G35 you will be happy with that decision!

Between those cars....G35.

How about a used B5 Audi S4 or late model E36 M3 ('98-99)? Both can be had with relatively low mileage for around 25K. Pocket the rest of the money and use it for mods/ repairs. JMO.

Not with the 6spd. You must be thinking of the auto, but he mentioned hew ants the manual tranny. Id go for the G35 hands down no questions ask if it was between those 3. The Bimmer is played out really, its like a really high class civic, everyone has one.

Yeah go ahead and buy the BMW, then when you start leaking tranny fluid, and cant access the trans to put some fluid in it and can't cuz BMW welded the trannies shut, you can buy another trans, and im SURE thats cheap. Cl if your poor, G35 if your willing to **** out top ramen for a while.

From another viewpoint:

BMW drivers are ********. Get a BMW only if your an *******, theres a correlation, don't know how it works.

The ******* Nissan is ugly ****, and should not be a consideration for the reason that its all wrong, too ugly, and well, its a nissan.

The new CL type-S I think is bad looking, and the 2000 CL type-S with a spoiler looks better than all of these, hands down. The Acura would be my choice for the fact that its a Honda and we all know what that means in terms ofd reliability, but Its a Honda, and thus a drivers car. Whereas other competing cars are like...the computer drives you, the Acura is closest to a "yesmen" kind of thing.

Based on looks, the Acura is still the winner by a long shot. You will be the most glad if you got it, but may take more of your time up (cause you'll try to tune it no doubt.)
My opinion is look into other cars cause I dont like any, but if you really have set on all three, and you think you can get the BMW without bein a ******* and like that type of driving, id say the Bimmer might be a decent choice. Overall, go with the Acura.

Quick Reply: Acura CL type S or BMW 330ci or Infiniti G35 coupe
