Default 99 CL TCC CEL

My 99 CL 3.0 has been shifting a little hard and random latley, and I just figured it was about time for the tranny to go (134000 miles). But the other day I got a CEL and it was for the TCC.

It says it is either low fluid, the Tranny control Solenoid, or faulty connection.

Well, the fluid is a little low, but not below the lower line, the connection is fine, so I guess it is the solenoid right?

Problem is I went to Acura auto parts.org and there is like 5 different solenoids on the tranny, and none of them are labeled the TCS. Any Ideas?

Thanks!

well I would rather change out a solenoid than a tranny... If the code says it is a solenoid I would rather change that than needlessly changing a transmission. If the tranny is on its way out than that is fine, but I would rather change the cheap parts first...

if the transmission has over 20k miles on it the solenoid will most likely not fix the issue. the only things that fail on the external part of the trans is a 4th clutch pressure switch. keep in mind once you order it the dealer will not take it back after it is installed.
also what is the dtc you got ?

I have been sick lately, so I have not gotten it re-ran. After they ran the code the computer said it was either...
It says it is either low fluid, the Tranny control Solenoid, or faulty connection.

I will report when I get it re read.

clutch is most likely out on TQ converter....might as well go straight to HONDA REMAN Trans.....

there is a honda parts guy that will get you the trans with 3/36K warranty for $1.5K if that does not work out. see if acura will offer some assitance if you have let them service the car or have bought multiple car from them

Yeah I am just waiting untill it blows. It works fine for now. We only run it up and down the interstate everyday, so it is not shifting much. It runs great, just have to be nice to it...

Replacing the soleniod will fix nothing. You need a new trans. We do them all the time at my dealership. I cant remember exactly but I believe your car at 134k is still under the extended warranty for the trans. If so you get a free one. Ill double check real quick.

I just checked and it looks like your car is not included in that extension. only the 02-03 CL's are included.
