96 TL - possible blown head gasket
Thinking that the car might have a blown head gasket. It's a 1996 TL 3.2 V6 and has 88K miles. No smoke is coming out of the exhaust? but, the coolant gurgles and gets froathy in the reserve tank. other than that it sometimes over heats. no other real symptoms.
The car is in great shape otherwise so, I wonder....
Should spend the money to repair it?
How much will it cost to repair it?
Do I have to worry about other damage down the road?
Could this be a cracked head or other problem?

You're right, it's probably just a blown head gasket. You'd be best with finding a honda or acura tech and pay him under the table to fix it if you're not a mechanic.
Also might want to specify if it's a 2.5 or a 3.2.
The 2.5 is a 5 cylinder with one head gasket. The 3.2 is a 6 cylinder with 2 head gaskets.
I can get you a pretty decent deal and mail it to you if you decide to go that route.

Re: 96 TL - possible blown head gasket (unvdis)
thanks I edited the post with the engine details.
I'm going to be taking it to a mechanic on monday for a quote to fix it.
Please PM me with some details on the gaskets. I like good deals! Oh and they would need to be shipped to 19067
thanks again

I work in parts at an Acura dealership. My number is in my sig.
Anyways, I can give part you part #'s too when I get to work tomorrow.
The only thing I was talking about "cheap" would be to get an acura or honda mechanic to do it for you under the table. If you took it to a repair shop or dealership they go by flat rate which is by the hour.
Basically it will take a good mechanic an hour to do it, but in terms of flat rate, will charge you 4.5 hours + parts. At my dealership $90/hour, nah i'm not paying that crap!
So Grimm, call the number in my sig. tomorrow and ask for Kenny.
Good luck.
