Default 2000 Acura TL transmission

I was wondering if a 2002 TL transmission was interchangeable with and 2000 TL?

99-03 will work. Be sure to take care of your tranny. It's one of the worst rated ever.

I have the same tranny issue in my 2nd Gen Odyessey. I've been treating it like a baby and it has given me no trouble so far.

Nope, the '99 TL transmission is a different design. will not work in a 2000-2003. Also the '99 TL trans is a 4 speed not a 5 speed

Sorry for the wrong info. Was the 99 still a 3.2?

The TL-P trans should not be used in a TL-S or a CL-S since it does not have a beefed up second gear for extra holding power

you should be able to use a CL-S or a TL-S trans in a TL-p starting from 2000 up

it is my understanding that the trans up to and including an 05 TL will work with the 2000+ TL/CL cars

00' and up on the TL, 01' and on the CL. The tranny code is located on a white sticker on the starter side of the case of the trans. Tranny codes to look for are M7WA,B7WA,BDGA,MGFA, and BGFA. One other option is the RL 01' and up.Hope this helps.

05' will work. 00' to 03' are the M7WA and B7WA trans. 04' to 07' is the BDGA trans.

from what I understand, the remans for the 01-03 CLS/TLS and the 04-05 cars are all interchangeable when they redesigned the casings.......in mid 05 for better oil flow.....

for reference the 07 and later have a 4 shaft transmission as to the 06 and below as the 3 shaft . and the case is a bit different which are made to handle the power and seem to be working as of date.

Where in the world did they find room to put another shaft in there? I will have to look for one of those. 06' is the latest I have had my hands on. Civic SPCA trans.

so you need to get the correct transmission. the trans you have is a type s and you have a none type s trans.
get your money back or exchange it.
no other way

I just bought a 2001 TL with 122k. I read about the tranny probs and saw that it had a tranny warranty paper in the owner's manual, but I guess the previous owner didn't need to have it replaced. The tranny seems to still run fine except for a few hiccups every now and again. Do you think it's going bad?

I have an '01 CL type S. Are you saying the much more reliable '05 TL auto trans will easily swap into my CL? Just clarifying, because that would be great if it's true.

I am in the process of putting a 2006 tl transmission in a 2000 tl. So far I've run into a problem since the 2006 tranny doesn't have a power steering pump speed sensor. I believe I can bypass this, but I will lost my power steering assist. Is there any way I can get my power steering assist back? Are there any other issues I may run into?

Can a tranny 2000 be replace by a tranny 2007 in the TL? The tranny for the 2000 is a premium, and the tranny in the 2007 is a type S with less mileage. Can the year 07 be put in the year 00?
