1997 Acura CL Radio Help
Recently I had to change the car battery on my vehicle and of course the radio reset itself. For the life of me I cannot find the code anywhere in my vehicle (gas tank, trunk, fuse box, inner door, behind ashtray, etc). I bought the car used and the original guide was nonexistent.
I have called Acura and have been quoted $100 to get the radio code. I figure that if I can get the serial number and go to Acura, I might have a better chance of them just giving me the code. So far I have tried this suggestion from a previous thread -
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">RETRIEVING THE AUDIO UNIT SERIAL NUMBER
To reduce warranty and customer costs whenever an anti-theft code is lost, the audio unit’s serial number can be retrieved without having to remove the unit. To recall the serial number, follow these steps:
1. Turn the ignition switch to the accessory (I) position.
2. Turn on the audio unit. Make sure “CODE” appears on the display.
3. Turn off the audio unit.
4. Press and hold the number 1 and number 6 preset buttons at the same time, and then turn on the unit. The serial number will appear in two parts – the first
four digits followed by the last four digits, and then the sequence will repeat.
5. Enter these eight digits into DCS to retrieve the antitheft code.
NOTE: If you happen to compare the serial number on the audio system’s chassis sticker to the displayed serial number, you will find the first two digits do not match. The serial number on the sticker begins with two alpha characters. When
doing an inquiry on DCS, always use “30” followed by the six-digit serial number. </TD></TR></TABLE>
It looks like I may have to remove the radio unit in order to obtain the serial number. The closest instructions I have found online are - http://www.installdr.com/Insta...7.pdf. The issue is that my configuration is slightly different (see photo).
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the radio code, or serial number (with or without removing the HU). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re: 1997 Acura CL Radio Help (TsXtC)
I believe it is similar to the Accord, only thing is you have to remove the entire center console.
Just something for thought, I have an MP3 Alpine Deck and I am looking for a stock Honda/Acura CD head unit, like the one you have pictured. If you are interested in a trade plus a little cash to my end, PM me.
BTW, Im in Chantilly
