my driver seat wont recline, moves back and forward fine, but the recline part dont work. u can hear the recline motor try to move but it just click and stuck...

any commom problems with these?

I haven't heard anything to much on this manner//the only thing that comes to mind is that the motor is about to give and it can no longer provide enough energy to recline. Should get it checked out.

What happens when you apply force to recline the seat backwards?

nothing happen when i apply force, it doesnt feel like window motors, like when there about to go out, u can kinda force it up putting less load on the motor.....recline motor sounds like its got the power to move it, but its jammed somehow..

the thing is, i got the same recline problem as my friends 02 tl... same ****.. these cars r junk, i've never seen so much problems on any honda acura car like these tl's and cl's..

you need to get to recline motor,take it out and power it up,ck to see that it moves forward and back,if it does you have problem with the recline part of seat,something broke and its jammed,good luck !!!!!!!!!!

we had a bunch of seat control units fail for the same reason either no recline or no forward or back seat movement. i have not seen many recline motors fail but every day we see new things as the cars are getting older.

their is no motor service for them.the only thing you can do is a function test and a control unit input test.

the motors on some of those cars do fail while other people have problems with the control module for said seat.......

Old thread but my cl seats have the same problem. The gears seam to be jammed is there a way to break down the seat and get to these gears to free them up?
