wheel hub removal
hey everybody
i'm currently working on a 02 civic si. we're trying to replace the wheel studs in them and in order to do so, we have to remove the hub. now i've taken off the big 32 mm nut in the middle of the rotor, took the rotor off, caliper, etc etc. do you all have any advice on how to remove the hub without using that axle puller thing?
any and all help is greatly appreciated.
thanks!

Re: wheel hub removal
For the front wheel studs, the disassembly of the break caliper is required (2 bolts are both torqued to 80lbs). Remove the disc break, dust cap and spindle nut (Torqued to 181lbs). Then the hub holding the broken stud should come off and just pound the broken stud out. I had the local shop grind away some of the knuckle so that they could drive out the old studs and suck the new ones through without having to pull the hub from the knuckle. You cannot replace the studs without separating the knuckle and hub or either doing some grinding. Good luck.
Should be able to slip them in and out barely

Re: wheel hub removal
if not, the Front wheel studs require the front wheel bearing and hub to be unpressed from the knuckle, new studs put in, then press everything back together with a new wheel bearing. It's a pretty damn big job and it takes some $$$ since you have to buy a new bearing.
