Default So what can you do to make your RSX Type-S fast without going turbo or NOS?

How fast can you make the Type-S all motor? Are there any good cams available yet? What about the JDM DC5 parts? What has everybody done to their motor?

There are lots of JDM parts: cams, pistons, manifolds, etc, that can be bought. The DC5 is still a baby in the import world and every week it seems to evolve more and more.
As far as what people have done... There's a guy here on HT I talked to earlier today or yesterday that is going all JDM and ordering cams/pistons/manifold and all the other good JDM motor ****. Hopefully he reads this post, I'm sure he will be much more helpful.

Well if you dont want to go turbo or nos and are planning to go the all motor route there are a few things you can do. When going the all motor route means raising the comp. ratio, but this is where it gets tricky. The Type S comp. ratio is 11:1 which is very high so it makes it hard to raise it more with out blowing the motor.

You can get the basic like intake, header, and exhaust. But if you want to go a bit more farther you can do,fuel rail, pullies, and do some internals. As of now toda has a whole line of products ranging from cams, to pistons. There are different companies you can chose from like, mugen ( http://www.kingmotorsports.com) or toda. And at the moment Spoon is making parts for the RSX but they wont release them for a while. At the moment the only thing available from Spoon for the RSX are the strut bars(250.oo each) and a header (1ooo.oo). Or if you want you can go the jdm route like I am. You can get the jdm intake manifold, exhaust manifold, pistons, cams, and throtle body. As for me I am ordering these items soon:

*jdm intake manifold (dc5r) =$300.oo
*jdm exhaust manifold (dc5r) =$450.oo
*jdm pistons =$250.00
*jdm cams =$390.oo
*mugen titanium valve springs =$350.oo

Also comptech and dc have parts available for the RSX but I have not seen very impressive dyno's on these items. If you look at sports compact car (3 month back) they did a rsx shoot out. And it showed the dyno on a rsx with comptech intake, and exhaust it only produced like 3 hp to the wheels, so I do not know if that kind of gain is worth the money.They also showed the toda rsx, greddy rsx, and the Fal rsx. Out of all the rsx involved in the shoot out the editor noted that the Toda rsx was one of the top one's there.

And also at the moment Hondata is working with the ECU for the RSX. They have said that there might be able to get 30+ hp from just tuning the ECU. So this can also help you with the all motor route. I will keep you posted on the parts that become available for the K20 motor. Well Good Luck bro..

i dont think the motor will blow with higher c/r pistons as long as you get the JDM ITR pistons , but one problem you may run into that is passing emmisions testing wit all dem JDM goodies ...but nothing an extra 20 bucks under the table wont fix at the inspection station....or sleep with the manager j/k
Yeah the JDM pistons will not effect it much, actually it should work pretty good, but In most all motor case's you increase the comp. ratio alot to get more hp. But with a 11:1 comp. ratio it makes it harder to go the all motor route. I want to see the exact specs and #'s of TODA's RSX. As for passing emmisions:

Hahhah. I tried this already, I still fail. hehee to much gas I guess haha.. It also said I was pushig 209 hp and 198 torque at the feet.. hhmmm.. maybe it was the burrito I ate before I tested it.. hahahha
