Default Redline MTF review.

Hey,

So after much hard consideration as to which MTF to put in my EP3 when I changed the fluid I decided to go with the Redline stuff (I called them to see which fluid they recommend for my vehicle. I think it was the MTL). And let me tell you... It sucks. Even the old formulation (which I think I had) of the Honda stuff worked better than this. It is super notchy, finicky, and doesn't always want to go into gear for either upshifts or downshifts.

I am going back to the factory Honda stuff ASAP and I think it was stupid to ever try something different. Honda knows what they are doing.

That is my $0.02

I had a small grind going into third and I swapped to GM Synchromesh and it fixed my problem. I like that stuff the best.

royal purple is junk.. hardly fit for my lawnmower.

I have used everything there is in my tranny, torco rtf has worked the best and lasted the longest.

honda stuff worked really good, but only took about 2000 miles before it was done, the tranny was back to sucking.. I have 9k miles on the torco rtf and it shifts just as good as it did when it had 500 miles on it

I used to use Honda MTF and Acura MTF but they suck donkey dick.

Bought some Pennzoil Synchromesh from VatoZone. Sooooo much smoother. I swear by that stuff.

No... I don't think it is.

I just don't like the feeling on the Redline. Maybe on older Hondas and other cars it works great. Just not feeling it in my K series tranny. Downshifts shouldn't take effort to get in gear with proper rev matching. And it never wants to go into reverse. Didn't start acting up til I swapped out the fluids.

I think I'll put some Honda MTF back in it and just change it every 20K instead of 40.

LOL the only thing I actually use is Honda MTF.

But when my car starts getting older and shifting like crap, I plan on switching to Amsoil.
