EP3 oil leak and some CELs....
Just swapped in a new/used motor into my car. I bought it with a half blown engine that I tried to fix but alas I had to change out the whole thing. I Got it running yesterday and its leaking oil from near the vtec solenoid and/or oil presure sensor.
My first suspect was the valve cover gasket but I ran my hand across the back and nothing.... So then I changed the solenoid out still nothing. So I did some research and found a lot of folks cracking the block where you thread the oil presure sensor in So I took the valve cover, solenoid, and presure sensor out to get a realy good look and thank god im not seeing a crack. Ive got a bad feeling the leak if from beetween the head and headgasket. I havent ran the car long enough to see if its gunna mix oil in the water. Just wanting to see if anyone has had theres fail and leak oil from there before.
On a side note ive got codes 4,20, and 41 that im working on as well gotta test some connections and what not. Before i swapped the motor it had no codes and all....
Heres a crappy pic or 2

Well the headgasket was toast. Changed it and all the codes but the o2 heater sensor code has gone away.

Re: EP3 oil leak and some CELs....
It was the headgasket. The motor came from a guy who bought it just because it had a 6 speed attached to it so he didnt ask too many questions about the motor. The cam caps were all loose and I usually change the headgasket on used motors but of course the one time I didnt the headbolts were not very tight. So I got a bunch of water in my oil and it ran like s*it... So changed the gasket and oil (no oil in water thank god) and she runs great now. This code 41 is annoying as hell. Its something to do with no1 oxygen sensor heater I think maybe the water that was getting shot out the exhaust might have caused an issue because the code wasnt there before I swapped the motor.... I need to test it and clean the bitch to see if it helps...
