Hey guys, so, im trying to build a k20k24 frank, and im so new to the game, my question is this: Does it matter which K24 block i use? and where can i get a true list of everything I'll need?
i was speaking with someone before and i essentially got the impression that all i need is the block and a few of the internals ie pistons valves ect. is that correct or am i going into the wrong direction?

Bought some innovative mounts for my swap. These should help handle the extra torque

yes sir, it will be going into an EP3. i have the k20a2 already and i know this wont sound like much, but i have a skunk2 tensioner ... and as far as like a budget? idk.... i mean... im not rich, but i dont really like off brand parts (unless they are really good of course) and i am a big fan of skunk2.....

also for power? again, i don't know too much about that... i would love to aim for about 300hp.... basically i want to beat an STI... maybe not from a dig... but at least on a roll.....

My recipe for that would be boost. If you already have a k20a2 then you got a good

platform to start with. Just get a turbo kit, fuel injectors , fuel pump , a good clutch

and make a fuel return line for your ep3. Dont forget the most important part... K PRO.

10 psi of boost should get you beating STIs and other turbo cars.

would it be worth it to still do the k24 build? and hten look at boost and what not?

also, off subject... for days i have been trying to find the gun metal gray type r wheels.... the 17" 5 Lug.... would you know where to find these?

Password Jdm might have them. Maybe try ebay. Other than that idk.

As for th build, If it was me and I had a k20a2 already i would just turbo it. Maybe later

down the road buy a k24 and build for more boost. But for right now I think you could

easily make 300 hp with just a turbo kit and a k20a2.

Now I know boost would be quick power. But I was kinda wanting to buildup car up nice N/A and when I have a "good" car n/a, I was then going to boost.

If you build a car for n/a most of the time you would use high compression pistons.

Turbo cars have low compression pistons compared to n/a motors.

Is it you Daily Driver?

You should consider putting in the k20a2 you have in and buying another motor to build.

Thats what i would do.

And I kinda like the idea. Because what, essentially the only thing is keep from my a2 is the heads right?

Well if you want the oil cooler from your k20a2 then you could use that.

thats what im doing. The head , water pump housing, oil cooler, etc.

i like the idea of just building another off to the side like you said, now let me ask you this, essentially ill need:
k24 block (any specific?)
k20 heads
some cool valves and what not
oil/water pump from, probably a rsx-s
and pistons? i mean there is more, but that's what a good chunk of the stuff right?

You will have to research on the blocks to see which one you would like.

I choose the K24a2 because it had a true vtec head on it.

Valves you could get stainless steel ones.

Pistons if you want to build turbo motor then i would say get some between

9.1 - 10.5 compression. If your building a n/a then 11.1 - 14.5 and up compression.

I would get connecting rods, new bearings and new seals.

Then have a machine shop balance all the new parts.

Just got my clutch, flywheel, and Rsx type s oil pan...

Clutch is a F1 Racing off ebay stage 4 unsprung.

Flywheel came with clutch. Its a 10.25 lbs flywheel.

I ready to back some necks with this clutch.

It reminds me of my turbo ef.

Got the oil pan off ebay used 75 shipped.
