I need help passing Pennsylvania emissions. I just moved from NJ to Bucks County and was hoping to get the whole <5000 mile emissions exemption, but I have to pass emissions completely first. Here are things that I know will fail:

1. No cat
2. Open dumptube
3. Re-routed PCV system
4. OBD2b converted to OBD1

Obviously I asked some local shops if they will pass me for a price but they aren't down for that. I don't have the stuff I need to convert it back to stock either. If anyone can help me out that would be sweet.

I'm not really too sure about where to go... but i <U>KNOW</U> there's some places in the City you can go to to buy a sticker... ask around speed shops or other guys driving highly modified cars, you'll find one Good luck with it

this is something i've heard, but have not been able to confirm with anyone:

allegedly, if your car requires like $500 or more (or some number like that) to bring back up to inspection standards, you can get a waiver, which basically makes the car legal (inspection-wise) for another 6 months or a year or something.

can anyone confirm if there's any truth to this?

yeah... it's tru.. but u gotta freakin' get it repaired by a DEQ certified emissions specialist... and all parts and crap have to be ordered through and installed by them... otherwise.. it doesn't count.. i'm goin' through this drama right now in NOVA

hey i have my emission and inspection license in PA the 500 dollar waiver isnt available to a modifyed vehicle you have to spend whatever it takes to pass. and there is no visual on an obd 2 vehicle its all computer and gascap and dyno or 2 speed idle test, as long as your car can be read by and obd2 scantool and have all the readyness test but two done and have no codes you will pass, as for trying to pay someone to pass you good luck everything is computerized you have to scan the registration and then the sniffer has to go in and the obd 2 pluged in then it prints the report and sends a copy to harrisburg so asking someone to take a risk that big is kinda dumb although they might not get cuaght there is always that chance and no one wants to loose there job or emissions license for someone they dont know, your best bet is to get stolen stickers but if you get busted your gonna be screwed too.
