Hi,

I just recently purchased a car through a dealership. Super clean and drives great. Only thing that I notice is at high RPM's, When shifting from 2nd to 3rd for some reason it grinds when I go into 3rd gear. It's only at high RPM's (3000+), and only 2nd - 3rd gear. The higher RPM's I shift at the worse it seems to get. Also it is a little tough to get into 3rd gear. Even while rolling if I put it in neutral and rev it up and put it in 3rd it does not grind. It's only when going from 2nd to 3rd.

What would be causing this? If it were a bad clutch it would be grinding every gear or more often correct?

it's a common problem with these trannys. sometimes it's the 1-2 and sometimes it's 2-3 like yours.

you can try running a syncromesh type fluid and see if that helps. but short of replacing the syncros there's really nothing that will actually fix it.

So just run it like that? And live by the motto "If you cant find it, Grind it!"?
