Default dc5 cluster options

hey guys ive worked on a few dc integras an i know u can swap clusters from type r to a gs/ls. I wanted to know, what are my options when it comes to a DC5 (rsx). What cluster could work in this car? also is it possible to put an s2k cluster in it?

DC5 cluster are huge work to swap into other cars! I assume you have an integra, and to make i work, you have to do some serious wiring plus get an rsx ecu as well, because that cluster needs a signal from it in order just to work. Don't bother.

Then i would suggest going to the Integra forums to see what others have done.

Swapping in a DC5 cluster is a real PITA.

i tried lookin there, i cant find anyone who has worked on a rsx cluster. I guess there arent many options yet for the rsx. but im thinkin an s2k cluster would look pretty hot!

The wiring would also be a nightmare. the dc5 cluster doesn't work the same way regular clusters do. you need the multiplexer unit from a k-series ecu. the engine vitals go to the ecu first and then go through an optical line to the cluster. it would be a monumental pain in the dick trying to make this cluster work in a Inetra chassis. that is unless you already have a k-swap.. which i imagine you do not. If you want to be somewhat different try an integra from another country or something. The S2000 cluster doesn't look that great to me.

its actually not that hard of a modification as long as you know what you are doing with the electrical aspect!!

and Deetz he is looking at buying a DC5(RSX), in america they come with the k-series motor already therefore he would not need to get the multiplexer because he would already have one ;-)

basically you can use any dc5 cluster in any dc5 model year (02-04/05-06, base, type s, type r usdm/jdm/adm) going from different gen and different regions are going to require some wiring. Then there is the s2k cluster you can use which requires a lot of wiring and conversions.

haha.. i've worked on all three setups on dc5's already. if you buy an 02-04. the harness is different then 05-06. you can rewire it. it's really not too hard. i have an 04 and i installed a 06 cluster on mine. i've also done a s2000 cluster on a RSX as well. wiring in that part is a PITA but just gotta be patient. and i do mean patient. here's a pic of a s2k cluster i did( sorry for the rest not done. i had just finished and was checking to see if everything was operating before i made the frame for the cluster)

If you're looking for plug and play, basically have no other options beside DC5

Nope, theres a thread on EPhatch of someone who did it. I don't think its as complicating as like a S2000 cluster, but its not plug and play.

I think only the DC5s plug and play with other DC5s (base, Type-S, 05-06 Type-S, ITR)
