Default HELP Base RSX won't shift into GEAR!!! HELP

MY **** IS ****ED - help please I've searched and can't find definite, possible answers

This **** came out of nowhere. I have a base rsx, only 74k miles on the car. Last Wednesday I was driving from work and all of the sudden it became hard to shift into gear, but it still went in. Then kind of went away, then showed up again the next day, hard to shift, sometimes can't get it in at all, then after a bit it began shifting again, but with difficulty.

Tonight, saturday night, I went out driving, was shifting perfect, then after a while on the highway it began shifting very tough again, I just left it in fourth. When I got off the highway, at the light I couldn't get it into first at all, couldn't go into any gear. I mean I try to push it in very hard and when i try to put it into first the car tries to move forward almost very lightly, with no gas. So I turned my car off cus I read online someone had the same problem and it was the same thing: shifts when car is cold, then after a bit of driving heats up and starts ****ing up. So then I got into gear when the light was green again. This **** kept happening and I got stuck at every tollway pay stop, and then left starting in first and grinding my way up all the way back home. When I got into my parking lot and put it into reverse the car started driving in reverse by itself just from me letting out the clutch.

CLIFFS: 74k miles on base RSX, started being hard to put into gear, within few days completely ****ed, can't put into gear at all. Got home turning off my car, starting in first and grinding my way up. Car shifts fine when cold; after a bit of driving can't get it into gear.

Icing on the cake: when jammed it into reverse and let out clutch with no gas, car just took off.

WHAT COULD THIS BE PLEASE HELP!!!!???

I had this same thing happen to me and i did some searching and ppl told me to try a few things. There is a nut on the end of the bolt at the clutch pedal Loosen that up and adjust for higher engagement to see if that works. If not, try rebleeding your clutch. Or maybe your CMC just went out and you need to replace that. I found out my CMC went out and I replaced it with a civic one and it works perfect now. Hope this helps

Whats the clutch pressure feel like? For sure check the clutch master cylinder. Also when was the last time you did a fluid change in the trans? Ever play with that?

Nah I don't have CAI. I checked the fluid Saturday morning, it was completely empty, I filled it back up, it still won't go into gear at all, maybe the lines sucked up air. I'm taking it to a shop tomorrow.

Let us know how it works out. I had the same problem, forced it into gear then changed the tranny fluid immediately. Havent had much of a problem since. If anything, its a reason to throw a 6 speed lsd in there and maybe a k20a or a2?

i had the same thing happein on my EM2 last week dont ignor it my tranny is shot now. check the tranny fluid asap, make sure you put only honda MTF in it. if that dont help your problem take the likgage off the tranny and and see if you can find a problem in the shifter linkage and shift the tranny by hand to see if you cant feel any problems in there

Does the clutch pedal just drop to the floor with no resistance? That's how you'll know if you have air in the lines.

Sounds to me like you just need a new clutch.

^ im sorry if im bringing this thread back to life but was searching and this was the closest thread i found that has the same/similar problem as my current one, wanted to know what was the problem, on mine my car is 06RSX Type S and was working fine all day until i got about a block away from home n it would go into gear at all, cant be Clutch/flywheel/pressure plate/and disc because i replaced those about a year ago and haven't been driving hard or having any problems with them at all till today, thinking it might be one of the following: (going from expense wise and labor wise), might be a faulty slave cylinder or air in the line, might time for a new Clutch Master Cylinder, or (hope not) loose hangar attached to throw out bearing or both the throw out bearing and hanger. Please any info and what was your problem and solution will help greatly, thanks.
