ok i have an 03 ep3.,it was giving me bad codes due to a bad o2 sensor. i replaced it and all codes are fine except speed sensor. the car has a hard time starting at first and isles bad and odten turns off. this happens after the engine light comes on and only reads speed sensor. then i erase codes and it works well. can a speed sensor cause this?

If the speedo and odometer aren't working it's a good chance the VSS is either damaged or the wiring has been damaged. Check the wiring first.

Its code for speedometer only. Right after swit hing the o2 sensor car has developed trouble starting. Getting a headache. Once car started car runs well. Idlerains stable untill the check engine light comes up with speedo code p500. When I go to work on the morning at 4 am car turns on on first crank flawlessly. When I get out at 5 pm car takes alot of cranks and gas pedaling to turn on. Just bought the car and its driving me nuts

And yes speedo and odo not working. Part comes in tomorrow. Thing is it was turning on fine untill I switched the o2 sensor

ok well i just got a bad TPS code so i ordered that online. Meanwhile i checked all connections and sprayed Throttle body cleaner on car and i got to say it worked pretty darn well. Anyways about the speed sensor, im going to have to live with it untill tranny needs a rebuild. Its a 6speed tranny from an rsx that got swapped in the ep3. Whoever installed didnt make it easy for the speedometer to be placed.
