I've got a 2006 RSX Type S, been searching around a bunch to find the best coilover for me, man this is tough lol. I'm glad I have a 10 year old car and prices are like $400 than they were originally, my budget is around $1000 though. I've narrowed down to a few coilovers though, suggest some if you think they'd be good. I'm looking for a pretty aggressive setup, maybe not so much it'd cause me to have an aneurysm lol. I do want a range of adjustability.

1. HKS Hipermax II - pro: best I've found. Con: still appears to be around $1800

2. Progress Competition - pro: safest choice by far. Con: not enough adjustability, I need some damper control.

3. Buddy Club N+ - reviews are pretty typical, I'd imagine they'd be fine, probably will be my go-to if I can't make up my mind.

4. Tien Street Advance - I can't find anything on these (not really sure where to find a good retailer either) I'd like to know more. As far as I can tell they're pretty much equivalent of the Tien SS.

5. KSport Kontrol Pro - Not sure about these, as far as I can tell they'd be a small step down from the Buddy Club or Tien. Thought I'd give them some consideration though.

I hear some things about Megan's... How are they?
Not sure which is the HKS Hipermax model, I've seen the Hipermax II and RS. If I find them in my price range, they sound like the best for me, I'd like some input on them though.

It's an 06 Type-S, fenders are rolled already, I'm fitting up 17x9 +35 Enkei sbc Rpf1s with a Sumitomo HTR 235/40zr17. It is a daily driver, but I'm not terribly concerned about ride quality as I stated as long as it performs really well and helps me fit my wheels because I really don't want to rub. Yes, I know that's a lot of wheel for this car, I may end up making fiberglass fenders to fit the wheels. It's not going to be chambered out or stanced, just a track functional ride height. I was thinking about between 1.5"-2.25" drop, as low as possible, but that will be fine tuned in the end.

Tein Street Advance is a good entry level coilover that is biased toward comfort. They're very soft.

If you're looking for something more agressive, look at their flex line. Street flex or flex A/Z.

Tein has revamped their lineup, and I really like what they've done.

I think they make Bilstein PSS9's for RSX's. That would be my #1 choice by far. Its about $500ish outside of your price range...but they are effing fantastic.

The ride and overall ability of the Bilstein is amazing. The HKS has more features and will allow a more agressive drop. Not to say the HKS is bad quality. PSS9's are some of the best street coilovers out there, though.
