I did my RSX front brake pads yesterday and there are two problems..

When I do my brakes, I typically unbolt both caliper bolts and lift the Caliper/Piston and knock out the old pads to put the new ones in. I don't swing the caliper...

1) One of the caliper bolts on the passenger side will not tighten! The bolt is completely in there, but will not tighten. When I took the bolt out it the threads were completely white like it's been subjected to a lot of heat.

2) On the driver side, one of the caliper bolts will not come out. I can break it free and get the head spinning but it will not come out. As I'm turning the bolt, I see some white flakes coming out. Looks very similar to the first bolts white stuff..

WTF is going on? Please help.

I put everything back together with the new front pads and it seems like everything is fine. Drives fine and the caliper is firmly in place.

But, it makes me uneasy driving this car! Please help!!

Show me please. Which bolt? I'm not sure if you're talking about the slider pins or the actual caliper bolts.

#13 is the culprit!!

#11 spins with the bolts as well.

Yeah you need to hold one end with i think its a 17mm wrench as you tighten
