Any way to get an AUX input on the RSX-S Bose stereo? (For an MP3 player.)
Hey guys, I just bought an RSX-S this afternoon, and no one at the Acura dealership could give me a straight answer on whether or not an AUX input exists on the Bose factory stereo. I'd like to hook my iPod up to the car stereo. Anyone have any idea on how to go about doing this? I'd prefer to avoid the tape deck or FM transmitter route, if possible.
I'm just starting my quest on how to do this, any links or insight would be appreciated.
Thanks a ton guys.
(I'll take pictures when I go to pick it up tomorrow morning, as if H-T needs more pictures of RSX's.)

Did you happen to read the not so fine print....
"NOTE: The HON-AUX is NOT compatible the vehicles with navigation systems** or with vehicles that have the in-dash 6-disc factory CD changer. "
It was looking good up to that part.

Can you get a factory trunk changer for the S? If so, this cable plugs into the port for the external CD changer.
I have that same cable in my Si for my iPod. I love it.

http://forums.clubrsx.com/showthread.php?t=147079 <-- This is the most promising lead I've found on the subject... but even so, his information seems incorrect.
The Icelink he talks about http://icelink.densionusa.com/ doesn't work with the RSX... HOWEVER..!!! http://shop.store.yahoo.com/lo....html says it does!
SO ordered, I'll let you guys know how it goes when I get it.

I know there is an iPod attachment to play over a radio station, and it uses the FM stereo settings so the sound quality is pretty good... No Mod Required!

Since the type s has an amp, you can cut the signal going into the amp and switch it over to the ipod. You will have to y the signal to the front and rear to get all the speakers to play. You use the ipods volume control. Depending on what input voltage the factory amp needs, it may play a little quiter than the factory radio. I have done this in several bmw's and it worked fine. You will need 4pdt relay, switch, a few rcas and 3.5mm to rca adapater.

.Hey man what's up? I think I can help you out. I just installed a dvd system with navigation in my RSX-S. I wanted to keep my 6 disk changer. I used an FM modulator. This one is not like one of those wireless units. This hooks directly up to your antenna and no batteries its hard wired. I would look at this unit. Works perfectly in my rsx! you can just buy an adapter for the RCA hooks up to go with your I POD. Let me know if this works for you. Its an AUDIOVOX FMM100.

quick update. I tried tapping the bose amp and was completely succesful. All I did was get a pair of RCA jacks from radioshack and tapped the wires into the wires coming out of the harness. My friend's mp3 player plugged in and played a pretty booming volume.
I'm going HU-less soon so it doesn't concern me, however you should be careful if you have both the mp3 player and the headunit going. might get some wierd things going on.
