I thnk you'll probably find most of the NSX guys here can't drive ina straight line. lol
Actually, they probably just prefer not to do so.

You said it right! No curves, no challenge. Any idiot can drive fast in a straight line. I could care less what my NSX does in a 1/4 mile. The car is fast enough. What more do you want? I drive the car as it was meant to be driven; carving canyons and at the track, not at a drag strip. If you want to drag race, the NSX is not for you.

Ha! I saw that too. I'd love to be from MiddelFART! What a great conversation starter.
I plan on taking my NSX to the strip sometime this year - just to see what it'll do. I suspect I'll be in the high 12's or low 13's. Although the car shines in other places, I'd think b/c of the mid-engine design, it'll get a good launch.

Canyon carving??? I've driven almost every car you can think of and I can tell you that the NSX is not a canyon carver. The car plows like it's on a farm.
You are right about it not being a drag car.....it's too slow to drag race.

That's a good line - seriously! But if it's plowing you're driving it like a tractor. Which means you're not a good driver and should go back to growing corn and making love to small animals. Considering your origin, I think the above is a safe supposition.

You gotta give some first hand accounts and experiences otherwise your statements start to sound like the Iraqi Minister of Information.
Other than that, your post was well thought out and furthered the discussion at hand.

Wow, what a very elitest thing to say.
No curves no challenge? You've obviously never drag raced. If the car you base your statement on(No curves, no challenge. Any idiot can drive in a straight line), was a 1987 Honda Civic DX I agree.
My guess is that you'd probably put my RX-7 into the wall at the launch or wheel hop it and brake my trailing arms from the go. Middle-ground is my friend, as fun as it is to drag race, it's just as much fun to road race. I also know the RX-7 was meant for road racing and taking turns, so a cars purpose wouldn't really be the issue. Why? Because I HIGHLY doubt anyone intended a Chevy Vega to do wheel stands on its way to low 10sec. 1/4 mile passes, but it can do it.
So theres my $.02.
For the record, a CL-S Auto or otherwise has NEVER emberassed me.

I disagree, ricers around here are like ricers anywhere else. Example: The PUTRID chameleon paint-jobbed, knock-off body kitted Supra I saw this weekend, Damn was that thing slow as *****, he couldn't drive either.

Nor do I care to. Going fast in a straight line is B O R I N G. Sure it may be a thrill to go tripple digits at first but it gets old really fast. I'd rather carve corners at a road course than go in a straight line all day. JMO.

No arguement, it's your opinion and you're entitled to it.
If you've never been drag racing, I fail to see how you can draw an informed coclusion. *shrug*
Maybe I'm just being **** today, it happens.

Drag racing = consistency. High speed fun.
Autocross (cicuit) = presision & control. Whats you cars strenths and limits?
Rally = cars setup, expect the unexpected.
Drifting = control. Fun?

I'm sure someone will get you the data, but, and for the universal record: Q. 1/4 mile NSX times A (in 4 words or less): WHO GIVES A ****??????????????
Wow, how cathartic. I feel great.

Well, since "canyon carving" is no where near as challenging, nor exploratory, as actually testing a car on a fulltime road race circuit, I'd say your empirical critique is flawed; in that, the limits of my car, when on track, are high enough that if I even tried to fully exploit them on ANY public roadway I'd have to drive like a complete *******, endanger the lives of all around me ,and, eventutally, get thrown in jail; what you can do w/ a car on the street is in no way indicative of it's true limits. Also, I have not found the NSX, of any vintage, to "plow" as much as you seem convinced to say. My opinion: you were overdriving the car.
