Default When adjusting the fuel pressure regualtor do I need to remove the hose?

When adjusting the fuel pressure regualtor do I need to remove the hose? Or can I do it without pulling off the hose?

Thanks for your help.

Ok last question. When I put the hose back on the fuel pressure regulator reads 38, so is that the pressure or is it the number when the hose is dissconnected?

When adjusting remove the hose. Place the hose back on and then read the gauge. The setting is when you have the hose back on.

I've always left the hose on when adjusting, I'm running 43PSI with the hose on, which I figure is probably about 50PSI or so if I take the hose off. If you pull the hose and adjust the setting do you just need to keep the hose pinched or is there anything else you must do? I'm curious now to see what the pressure is at with the vaccum line disconnected. Thanks

No. the fuel pressure setting is with the HOSE OFF.
If you want 50psi pressure, you take the hose OFF and set to 50psi then
put hose back on. Pressure with vacuum is irrelevant.

That hose was a pain to put on and off. Yes or on? A definitive answer.

Adjust with the hose off the correct fuel pressure reads with the hose off. To adjust you loosen the 10mm nut and use an allen key on the small set screw.

I forgot the size, if you have a standard allen key set you should be able to find the right size. I'll check tonight and post again, if you still need to know.

So guys I totally understand the theory.
But what pressure do you recommend on my setup,
I installed AEM fuelrail/Filter/Regulator on my 95 GSR with AEM CAI/DC 4-2-1 header. What pressure is recommended to increase with this setup after the normal fuel pressure?
What is the stock Fuel pressure on a B18C1 Engine?

dear sGT,
I understand the theory you've mentioned, what pressure would you recommend for my GSR 95 with AEM CAI/DC header/ AEM fuelrail/filter and Regulator, I installed the AEM stuff this week without the guage , I ordered the guage from Summit Racing the B&M Gauge set in order to adjust, I raced without the adjustment but the car drives bad, I assume that is the fuel setting, So like you mentioned, adjust with the vacuum hose OFF, and adjust till wanted pressure and connect the hose back.
please help me out

Ok I took the hose off the setting was 40 PSI so you recommend increase till 50 PSI and then connect the hose back, it will drop back to 40 psi, is this fine? the car drives good at 50 PSI. Maybe it's not really rich/lean so will install rich /lean meter to see.
what are the ranges for GSR's adjusted fuel with Header/intake/fuelrail/filter/regulator.thanks
