i am looking for a new car. i went to the local honda dealership to look at a 03 si and i got the dealer down from 19,000 sticker price to 15,500 out the door. i also found a 2000 type r with 30k on the clock, apex n1 coilovers and some other stuff for 16,500. what should i do?

If you have to ask which one to get, you should get the Si.

It depends what you're going to be using the car for. If you're going to be commuting a lot, have fixed expenses, or any other reason why you need a 100% reliable NEW car, get the EP3

If you can sacrifice the creature comforts, put up with the noise, and have an older car which the previous owner may have beat to ****... Get an R

I personally really like the EP3's

(Not as much as my car though now that I'm not commuting 60 miles a day)

Get the ITR since won't be easy to come by in a few years...

You can always get an Si or an EP3R (if and when they come).

The EP3 is nice but engineers made lots of compomises when they built the car..

Have you ever seen a Type R that`s lowest point was the exhaust ???? So the EP3. "more space for the passangers"...

You have to mod a lot but when you`re through it`s an awsome líttle car.

Get an ITR

I have the same thought..
EP3 or ITR... umm.. err... 2nd ITR I mean.. LoL..
but it is hard to find stock ITR and I will find it harder to daily drive it..
(Cause I love it so much).
PiYo - who's gonna get an LS...

Hmm... Have any speculation what the EP3 R will have in it? Weight? etc?

George from driving your EP3 and with the forecasted list of differences between the EP3 and the EP3R, do you think it will give the DC5R a run for it's money, or will it just be a little bit snappier EP3? I'm kind of STILL thinking about picking up one (If they're still going for as cheap as you got yours)... not really sure if I want another car payment for a daily driver/beater though

I REALLY like the EP3, I've liked it since those preliminary pictures on the temple of vtec... If it was comparable to the DC2R I'd have to think long and hard about whether or not to trade in

If you want people to leave you alone on the street...EP. But I'd take that R in a heart beat! Not bad of a price too!

Thanks,
Victor

If you want to keep the car, get the EP3.

Check the VIN on the car. Make sure there are no crazy accidents, etc.

I would go with a EP3 or DC5 if your looking for a new nice /

Oh ya my cousin told me the SiR shifter is awesome.

However, there are rumours of a USDM DC5 R that would have more horsepower than the UKDM and JDM versions.
that would be a wise move from honda, with all the competition out there.

I'll be really hyped if the EP3R ever comes to US shores... I love that car

My girlfriend would hate me for getting rid of the DC5R though

Get both like I did

The EP3 is no DC2R, but the EP3 is a damn good car, regardless of what the haters say.

For $15.5K, you can afford to get kick @ss suspension for the EP3 and have the piece of mind that it will be in the lot after you are done seeing a movie or something. I probably would not have an R if it had to be my daily driver, even though the R is decently safe in my area of the woods.

I daily drive my ITR every day and have no trouble except for a stolen emblem. I say get the R if you are not in a area where it wont get messed with. The R is a very good daily driver IMO. I feel weird when it is too quiet and you cant hear the cars engine.

The car will be there... the seats, however, are another question. There seem to be a lot floating around on Ebay already, including one guy who claims to have removed them because he installed Tenzo seats.

We are running the BF-Goodrich Cup (Nürburgring) this year on an EP3.
It ended up 4th after the first race... I`ve been with this car very often. It`s faster than a DC2R.. Handles great and got better power.
We developed a race suspension for it: 100% aluminium. Very light.
