If you have a tire mounting machine, it's quite easy.

I too have heard the myth and legend from the "Old Guys" about using prybars to remove tires from rims BUT, our stock tires and most aftermarket tires "Especially the Azenis" that we use have extremely stiff sidewalls and are even a Pain In The *** when using a machine sometimes. And if you aren't careful and know at least a bit about this process, you may damage your rims and even may hurt yourself.

I changed my own AVS i's onto steelies when I sold my winter rubber and even though the Yokohama tires aren't the most difficult, they also weren't THAT easy.

Now if you mean just taking the wheel/tire combo off the car then No, that's easy and you don't need much of anything special.

I did it with a steak knife. Don't do it. What will take you hours to do will only take seconds at a tire shop.

I asked a tire shop, if it's possible to DIY. They said, "yeah, only if you don't have anything better to do."

It would be a bizatch to do. I thought for a second to use a chainsaw to cut 'em up, but I think that would be a pretty stupid move.

I've done it on my old domestic... It was a bitch and no fun at all. Took the tire off the rim to throw a patch on it. Used tire irons and the damn thing still took 2 of use pulling on it. Also re-setting the bead when filling it back up is kind of scarry

keep going...$$$

i recommend filling them with hydrogen untill they simply "pop" off the rim....(read: explode in a skin graft inducing, flaming skin causing, hell fest)

Do a burnout until the tires pop and then cut the remaining portions of the tires off the wheels.

Of course you need to film the entire procedure as a DIY guide for others.

On a related note, ITR wheels fit on the back of Mustangs/RX7s/etc.

If you're only unmounting them, i dont think it would be that hard. just have to find something that will hold the rim steady while you crowbar it off. doing it this way would probably damage the rim..

If you're mounting, just pay the 20 bucks and have it done in 5 min. another 10 minutes if it's azenis
